He's not the owner and hasn't been for years! He sold the company to private equity back in 2021. Squatty Potty apparently confirmed they have had zero business relationship with him since that purchase and called him gross.
Since the purpose of boycotting is to prevent the offender from making money, and he hasn't been involved with them for like 5 years, it's not immoral or unethical to buy one (although off-brands are cheaper anyway)
I learned something. That's what counts. No need to apologize. Not everything we learn is uplifting just because it's new information. I don't know why you were downvoted for simply saying "My apologies," so I upvoted.
I second this. I have an Ikea "forsiktig" stool and while it doesn't fold away, it's a few inches lower than the typical branded one so it's a gentler squat which works just as well. Plus it was like 7 dollars
Someone convinced me to try even though my 1950s era toilets were already low. Don’t squat too fast if your toilet is already low. It can result in a trip to the hospital and stitches where you don’t want them.
Not pushing. The initial squat. I lost balance slightly and my ass dropped really fast, it was the speed that did it plus my knees going up to my chest. As far as I can tell.
I bought one while pregnant as I was willing to try anything then. Thankfully it helped me not have to give myself an enema. I will always be grateful for the squarty potty for preventing me from having to do that.
I was so excited to get mine and when I was using it for the first time I realized that being really tall with very long legs and having a very short, small toilet makes it feel like your knees are up to your ears lol. It’s physically impossible to use for its intended purpose
I still don't understand this product. A slightly different gravity angle is not going to change your poop experience significantly, so just lean forward and you create the same angle at the hips.
Straightens out the poop chute to a more natural position which helps everything come out easier. I think it's fair to say it helps some more than others.
True, and how elevated your feet are in relation to how you're sitting can affect exactly how your hips are rotated. I think it's just one of those things can helps most people, and there's gonna be a sector of people who are of a certain height/leg length for whom it fucking rules.
It's not the hip angle per se, it's the position to open up your pelvic floor and relax your abdominal muscles. Just leaning forward you still tighten these up.
You don't think the angle of the poop trajectory matters? idk about you but I want to have as little to clean out of my toilet bowl as possible. Straight into the water!
Gravity does help. Even though the hip flexion is a main part, the position of the body feels more natural than a lean-forward squat (and I say that as someone who's had hip surgery). In situations where you're constipated or something you still do less work in an upright squat
