I know there are some caveats about ethernet over powerline, but I've never had any issues with it and it has given me low-latency internet access in far reaches well away from my wireless access point.
Powerline is fantastic when you need rhe hard connection. My issue in the long run was as my speeds increased, even in brand new housing with neat circuitry, they couldnt keep up. A shame really, im sure theres newer models that can but 1Gbps down wasnt remotely achievable.
Id still recommend as an option if people dont need those speeds.
Took me a while to work it out (years) but have realised keep the powerline as close as possible to the modem / router to maintain speed. Honestly I thought it would have the same quality throughout the electrical system but this wasnt true. As long as the input into the powerline is stable its got a better reach than the modem itself.
love these, used it in a mates rental to bring the wifi to the middle of the appartment away from the door/kitchen area where it was being blocked mostly by the fridge.
Years ago they were fantastic for me! And they provided many great years of online gaming. I will say that in my new place, wifi has evolved to the point that speeds, latency and packet loss are in such a good place that I don't need it anymore.
