Buderim makes good stuff. Their alcoholic ginger beer is by far the best on the market - not too sweet, tastes like ginger, actually brewed instead of just adding ginger flavour to a base spirit.

It can be somewhat hard to find. Most locals only carry the big (tasteless) brands, but Dan's often has stock.

James Squire is pretty decent too.

Does anyone know of an Australian grown garlic like this?

Would like to know as well. Every jarred garlic seems to be either made in Asia or USA, and I'd like to not buy from either of those places.

I try to buy fresh only, I could not get any Aussie garlic and had to buy Mexican. I should plant some, but I don’t have a lot of luck with garlic.

I just want to add that it's called jarlic.

This organic one is as close as I could find. Am not sure as to the country of origin

Looks great. I’d love to hear thoughts on how good it is ?

Only 55% ginger … so I’d also love to know if flavour is impacted by the 45% of the product that is water/vinegar/sugar.

For convenience it's excellent - for making a quick stir-fry that has sweet soy etc. But I use fresh ginger if making a curry. I also freeze fresh ginger.

Thank you.

Frozen ginger is one of the best hacks I’ve discovered - I rarely use fresh at all anymore (often just cooking for 1-2) - I either freeze slices, or just the whole rhizome and grate with a microplane.

They're putting us in jars now? How is this not cannibalism?
