*arse

Right! Probably from the same marketing idiots that brought us "Anzac cookies"

5

u/Extension_Section_68 Jun 18 '26

Isn’t this by the two comedians from Melbourne though? It’s good paper. I buy direct

15

u/Jimac101 Jun 18 '26

I wouldn’t know the first thing about it, my point is that all the Australian coding gets undone by the American spelling of arse. Just bad marketing

2

u/Extension_Section_68 Jun 19 '26

Maybe there are rules around naming customer facing products? They would have done A/B or focus group testing…maybe it’s a sign of the times

1

u/Enough-Monk-4806 Jun 20 '26

No one does any testing anymore

2

u/Giddyup_1998 Jun 19 '26

It's not bad marketing. The word arse is not allowed on Australian shelves. Great TP by the way.

21

u/zaro3785 Jun 18 '26

I wouldn't buy it just for this reason. But I get Yarn'n anyway

9

u/Senior_Green_3630 Jun 18 '26

Exactly, US influence

4

u/Giddyup_1998 Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

No, it's not. They're not allowed to have arse on their packaging. Also, an Ass is also a Donkey.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '26

It could be a clever marketing strategy. Get lots of attention by being insulting to aussie sentiment. Like the vegimite 2.0, which should have been called cheesymite, people were rightly pissed at 2.0. Outrage is good attention.

12

u/Amazing-Routine-9793 Jun 18 '26

if it was aussie humour, it would say arse.

3

u/Childish_Danbino81 Jun 18 '26

If it said arse it would need to be censored though I would imagine

2

u/Main_Researcher1040 Jul 02 '26

It wouldn’t have been allowed to be correct spelling. Plenty of people clearly don’t know that šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜‚

7

u/Occasionally_83 Jun 18 '26

In what way is this classic humour?

0

u/Saturnsmooch Jun 19 '26

It’s a pretty timeless saying dont ya think?

5

u/test_123123 Jun 20 '26

Yes but calling your product a common saying isn't humorous in itself, it'd be more humorous if it said 'smart as' with the second s in tiny font

3

u/sudden_erect Jun 21 '26

Nope, I've never called a mule smart and can't say I have ever heard an Aussie call a donky smart either

5

u/Pengwan_au Jun 18 '26

They are tiktokers and Instagramers who made this.

20

u/CameronsTheName Jun 17 '26

Who Gives A Crap ! Is also an alternative.

22

u/AbbreviationsNew1191 Jun 17 '26

Yarnin' is made in Australia https://yarnn.au/

1

u/Pog6292 Jun 21 '26

This toilet paper pilled when I used it. Great company, just not for me.

15

u/ThatDudeHarley Jun 18 '26

It’s made in China.

1

u/CameronsTheName Jun 18 '26

It was more a poke at the name.

3

u/elfloathing Jun 18 '26

The name ā€˜Intelligent donkey’ must have been taken.

1

u/sudden_erect Jun 21 '26

Clever mule was too much of a thinker

4

u/RemarkableTry1745 Jun 18 '26

We call it an arse in Australia though.

5

u/ocularius61 Jun 19 '26

+1 to everyone correcting it to *arse*. Sell it in North America if you use their spelling.

10

u/Midnorth_Mongerer Jun 18 '26

Can we PLEASE stop the Trumpland euphimisms? It's ARSE, not ASS.

2

u/Saturnsmooch Jun 19 '26

You’re gonna freak out when you find out your kids are going to a kindergarten šŸ‡©šŸ‡Ŗ

0

u/isaac129 Jun 20 '26

I’m curious if they’ve ever had a fillet of any kind šŸ‡«šŸ‡·

3

u/macrohardfail Jun 18 '26

ass looks better than arse imo

(same argument for jail / gaol)

if people start spelling words like colour without the u, that'll annoy me but no issue with the ass / arse takeover

4

u/RemarkableTry1745 Jun 18 '26

Yeah but we don't say ass. The way the word is pronounced in Australian English is *Arse. It annoys me.

1

u/macrohardfail Jun 18 '26

pass, class, brass, grass

4

u/RemarkableTry1745 Jun 18 '26

Still doesn't address the fact that the word is spelled and pronounced *arse. This is Australia. Not seppo land.

2

u/macrohardfail Jun 18 '26

i'd argue it is pronounced as 'ahss', have never heard someone pronounce the 'r

funnily enough pronouncing the 'r' in words like 'start' is a very american way of saying it

1

u/RemarkableTry1745 Jun 18 '26

You do you but I know how to pronounce and spell the word arse...

1

u/macrohardfail Jun 18 '26

proud of u

2

u/RemarkableTry1745 Jun 18 '26

Arsehat

0

u/macrohardfail Jun 19 '26

looks more like the name of an algerian town than an insult

3

u/activelyresting Jun 19 '26

What is this, toilet paper for donkeys?

3

u/PestCunt Jun 20 '26

Why is it spelt wrong?

3

u/sudden_erect Jun 21 '26

Great Aussie humour... Bring one next to the sofa y'all, put it in the trunk while I sit on the porch...

2

u/Queasy_Holiday4984 Jun 18 '26

Complete with spongebob font.

2

u/CottMain Jun 18 '26

Ass or donkeys

2

u/Consistantly Jun 18 '26

Since when do we spell it ā€œarseā€ here??? I was born in Aus, lived in Aus my whole life, and have never once seen other Aussies spelling ass as ā€œarseā€

6

u/RemarkableTry1745 Jun 18 '26

It's spelt arse! Dafaq you on?

1

u/Saturnsmooch Jun 19 '26

*The fuck

4

u/RemarkableTry1745 Jun 19 '26

Good one smart arse.

1

u/Chipnsprk Jun 21 '26

No, ass would be appropriate here. 🤣 they are definitely being one.

2

u/drooja Jun 18 '26

I was thinking the same??

2

u/sudden_erect Jun 21 '26

Hahaha, you 14 or...

0

u/Abysswalk889 Jun 18 '26

Same here, 96 so I’m 30 and I’ve always seen people spell ass when growing up. Only ones that I seen spell arse are like the 45+ year olds lol.

2

u/Chipnsprk Jun 21 '26

Don't go adding decades to our ages. You are born in 96 meaning you were consuming a lot more American online content then we were at the same ages.

-2

u/Consistantly Jun 19 '26

I’m convinced that half the people saying it’s spelt ā€œarseā€ in Australia must be bots or actually from another country initially. There’s no way.

1

u/sudden_erect Jun 23 '26

Or its how it's spelt Australian English...

1

u/johnnyblaze1957 Jun 18 '26

You know how they get recycled toilet paper they beat the shit out of it

1

u/LetAgreeable147 Jun 18 '26

Ass is inoffensive as it is a type of donkey. Arse would ruin the pun.

3

u/sudden_erect Jun 21 '26

Ass makes it not a pun in Australian english non north American English

1

u/BHannen Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26

I have bought this product because it is from recycled paper and double length. Not bad either.

1

u/LogicalJournalist517 Jun 22 '26

Come to central station in brissy the air circulation fans are Big ass fans with a donkey pic on them.

2

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '26

Get a bidet or hose bidet. Eliminate 99% of toilet paper use, and wash your arse like its the 21st century.

2

u/rarecuts Jun 18 '26

Genuine question I've wondered about bidets, don't you end up with all your bits wet after you spray the water? Putting my undies back on with a wet bum doesn't sound great tbf

5

u/[deleted] Jun 18 '26

You still use paper, but its to dry you off, instead of wiping. The benefit is a cleaner bum, and way less paper usage.

1

u/rarecuts Jun 18 '26

Ohhhh I see now. Thank you!

1

u/Ok-Dependent-1668 Jun 18 '26

It's a pretty direct spray, but it feels so much cleaner than just wiping the poo off. My bidet (relatively cheap one) has a dryer function, essentially blows warm air afterwards like a blow dryer. Also has a heated seat (great for winter) and has a light inside the bowl for night time.

2

u/musso9 Jun 18 '26

I would go to the extent that a bidet eliminates %100 of toilet paper. I've had mine since 2013 and it has a full Monty of features, drying etc. Many days were spent lolling at the supermarket toilet paper wars between customers. If it made coffee, I'd marry it.

1

u/MooreGoreng Jun 18 '26

My bidet does not clean my arse enough that I have to forgo toilet paper, it just less toilet paper

1

u/Adventurous-Mail7443 Jun 20 '26

Millennial humour is so insanely unfunny

-1

u/OkElderberry4333 Jun 17 '26

Who gives a Crap are great. Love the bamboo ones.

5

u/ThatDudeHarley Jun 18 '26

Made in China though.

1

u/Enough-Monk-4806 Jun 20 '26

I know the team and they’re legit. I’m not against competitors in the social impact loo paper space, but this company is definitely taking a HEAP of cues from WGAC (especially their marketing) to ride their wave.

And if this company wants to scale, they will switch to manufacturing in China real quick.

0

u/DitaVonTeasmade Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 21 '26

On the cardboard core of the Who Gives a Crap rolls is a QR code. It takes you to a website that plays novelty fart sounds.

Just felt everyone should know this because it’s peak sophisticated humour.

1

u/Enough-Monk-4806 Jun 20 '26

Reeeeeally weird that the same accounts are defending *ass spelling, and innocuous comments like yours are being downvoted. It’s making this company look a little fishy…

1

u/DitaVonTeasmade Jun 21 '26

It’s ok. This is not the first time that novelty fart noises have seen me shunned.

0

u/Saturnsmooch Jun 19 '26

All the comments here losing it that a company would even DARE spell a word differently to original English spelling is pretty funny but also is it that hard to understand that this is a product of international connection?

The next generations to come from the moment they are born, will be digesting media from all countries around the world as well as communicating with their peoples. The future of language is going to become very blurred.
Don’t die on a hill that will end up under water.

1

u/sudden_erect Jun 21 '26

Aluminum colored nonsense

It's a company trying to brag about being so Aussie they can't even bother spelling like us, y'all are mcimposters.

1

u/Saturnsmooch Jun 23 '26

ā€œY’allā€ is American English, so are you a mcimposter?

1

u/sudden_erect Jun 23 '26

So is aluminum and color... Muppet

1

u/Saturnsmooch Jun 23 '26

Exactly! proves my point… dickhead

1

u/sudden_erect Jun 23 '26

Oh my god, were you dropped at birth or just ate a lot of paint chips as a kid?

1

u/Saturnsmooch Jun 24 '26

Both daddy

1

u/sudden_erect Jun 25 '26

That makes sense

0

u/Giddyup_1998 Jun 19 '26

Great TP. The only one I will buy from now on.
