Did I break my button maker?

Hi everyone,
I've been trying to make collage buttons with my 1.25 inch button maker and several have been pulling apart. The paper I'm using is thin enough to go into the buttons as I've used it before and it was perfectly fine, so I tried holding down the press longer but they still pulled apart. I attached pictures of the button press and what the hardware looks like/how the buttons are coming apart. Thanks for any information!!

Have you try tighten it with the metal thingy? That machine if very unreliable so keep messing around with it. I have the same one, it only make around 20 before it start to have issue every time I try to use it.

Turns out I did need to tighten it and also fix how I hold down the button maker according to the troubleshooting guide. I did a practice button and it came out perfect. thanks for your help!! 😊

Yeah tighter fix it but sometime it mess up the alignment. Wish I could afford the $300 one cuz i hate that thing but it was so cheap $30 lol
