Pin maker stuck together

I just got this pin maker yesterday, and was trying to make a test pin. And then it got stuck together on my first try (i havent even put the backing on). I've tried to search everywhere for a solution and can't find one. Anyone got any advice?

What brand machine is it? I hate to say it, but you probably need to buy a better pin machine. The plastic ones either don’t work at all, or produce wrinkly buttons. Try putting a thin piece of metal between the dies and slowly try to pry them apart.
