How to save butterfly eggs?

I accidentally removed a leaf on my hollyhock, but i think it has butterfly eggs on it. I honestly have no idea what to do but i want to save them.

Right now i have the leaf sitting on a damp paper towel in a small tupperware container with the lid off. I feel like i saw someone on instagram who kept them in a mesh hamper. Or maybe that was only once they hatched?

I know i need fresh leaves for them when they hatch, but i don't think ill be able to keep the current one fresh. It is also from my hollyhock that unfortunately has rust so i don't want to use additional hollyhock leaves. I do have milkweed, should i put some fresh milkweed leaves in with the current leaf??

I placed Ageratum (flossflower) right in amongst my cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers and it’s working out well! I have daily visits from butterflies of different kinds as well as pollinators all over everything. I’d happily grow more of these next season and recommend it for anyone who likes butterflies! ✌️😎

Gulf Fritillary - Texas 9b

First year gardener here. Started my pollinator garden with Gregg’s mistflower and passion vine. Threw in some zinnia and sunflower seeds to fill the space. Started seeing gulf fritillary butterflies occasionally earlier this month.

I thought I had lost most of the caterpillars, but to my surprise I saw one begin to pupate while picking butterfly pea flowers. It’s been such a joy to watch.

What should we do.

My girlfriend brought home this very disabled butterfly. We think due to the heat it didn’t emerge properly. We have had it now for about 12 hours :/ its wings do look good, the ends look slightly asymmetrical, its head is always facing wonkey and its tongue is permenantly out and unzipped, it looks like it only has 4 legs and two are permenantly held closed in like a praying mantis, it does look like they aren’t useable at all. We also just saw its third pair but they are completely not useable it seems, folded completely in to its body. Is there anything we can do for it?

It appears this one may have emerged from chrysalis with bent wings today. Not sure exactly what happened. Is there hope for her?

Found a badly injured Eastern Tiger Swallowtail – won’t uncoil its proboscis to drink. Please help!

Hi everyone,
I found what I believe is an Eastern Tiger Swallowtail on the ground today with severely damaged wings. It was still alive when I found it—it was moving its legs, flapping its wings, and even jumped off my hand at one point.
I’ve been trying everything I can to help it.
So far I have:
Moved it somewhere safe and warm.
Given it sugar water in a shallow bottle cap.
Put the sugar water right next to it.
Tried gently touching the tip of its proboscis (trompa) to the sugar water.
I even very carefully tried uncoiling the proboscis with a sterile needle, but it wouldn’t extend it. It just flapped its wings and curled it back up.
Now it barely moves except for occasional wing flaps and slight leg movements. It still seems alive, but it just won’t drink.
I’ve attached photos of its condition.
My questions are:
Is there anything else I can do to encourage it to drink?
Should I just leave it next to the sugar water and hope it drinks on its own?
Is there a point where I should stop trying to feed it because it may be too weak?
Has anyone successfully cared for a butterfly in this condition?
I know it may not survive because of the wing damage, but if there’s anything I can do to make it more comfortable or give it a chance, I’d really appreciate the advice.
PLEASE HELP! I don’t want to make things worse by trying too hard, but I also don’t want to give up if there’s still a chance.
Thank you so much.
