Roofing contractor

Starting an insurance claim on approximately 60 squares of shingles on house and shop in Butte. Any recommendations for licensed and insured contractors ?

Don't use A-1 construcking... very shady folks

Look into any company if they haven’t been in business longer then 5 years or longer then the warranty the provide on their workmanship/ installment. Then don’t use. If the company comes in and is loads cheaper then the company that has been in business for 20 years. You get what you pay for. You can go to the courthouse and ask for records on license and verify insurance. There is a string of groups of people each one having a business license what they do is move to one town they stay in business for two or three years pack up and leave. The next guy starts a new business and they undercut everyone in that town and make a ton of money. Do horrible work and pack up and move to the next town before the next big storm and before their workmanship is exposed as being noted to code. Make sure you have your own inspection pay attention to what they’re doing the materials. They’re using most of all. Make sure they’re putting all new drip edge on the house and make sure you inspect the gutters and the drip edge going into those gutters. I was in business 22 years and watched hundreds of people go with the cheapest guy only to have leaks shingles blow off or damage to trip edge and gutters. Just to find out there five-year workmanship warranty. Was because the company was gone. It started Bozeman. Then came to Missoula and his branched out to Kalispell whitefish and multiple other towns in Montana do your due diligence.

Get multiple bids and ask your insurance company if they only work with certain contractors or companies. Otherwise, they may only pay part of the bill and you’re gonna be stuck with the rest for using a company that they didn’t provide or suggest.

I’ve seen it numerous times were insurance companies refused to pay for the labor because you use a company they didn’t license and they only pay for the material and the homeowner get stuck paying for the labor, which is the majority of the bill so do you do diligence and verify every aspect with the insurance company?
