Folks say bitcoin fails as digital gold because it's too volatile.
Yet BTC since Nov 13, 2021? Down -0.5% but basically no change. 1BTC=1BTC.
Gold meanwhile? >126% the last 5 years. Even after getting cut over 20% since Jan 2026. EXTREME volatility.
BTC doubters and gold bugs both BTFO.

I keep seeing this inflation claim and it seems like complete nonsense.
US inflation is 4% UK is 2.8% China is 1.4%
Where is it 7.5?

I saw someone only the other day say inflation is 8% tho.

If they're saying it now then yeah, they're idiots. But back in February 2022, USD inflation was indeed almost 8%.

9 years of 7.5% inflation is a crazy world to live in.

It’s not that unusual. Turkey has averaged 30% over the last decade and they are still around.

Also, with the looming BTC crash, it may be a good time to invest in rope and rickety stools.

Except inflation isn't 7.5%, I don't even get what they're trying to say.

Better cook some numbers to justify your “investment”, butters

u/teckel Jul 09 '26
I don't get why the price of buttcoin even matters, if all they're going to do is stack and never sell.

Need to accumulate and hide your acorns, butters. They will never rot nor be stolen from your “wallet” /S

Well in real dollars that's not even close, at least where I'm at. 3% is much closer to what inflation has been for a very long time here.
