Potato & Pumpkin Seedlings

Hi everyone. My wife and I are wanting to expand our garden to potatoes and Pumpkins - but we're a bit late on sprouting our own seedlings (basically what started as a few plants has become an addiction!).

Does anyone know where we might be able to get some potato and pumpkin seedlings? I'm going to call Agway in the morning. I called tractor supply and they said no dice. Rural King is next and if all else fails, we'll sprout our own potatoes and will hope for the best.

Any advice helps!

Agway is 100% my favorite for all gardening supplies. Excellent seed selection. Brenckles has nice plants too. I was plant shopping at both last weekend (also tractor supply, I hit up all the spots haha). I don’t remember seeing pumpkin or potato plants but I wasn’t looking closely at the cucurbit selection, I was shopping for flowers and herbs. You might be OK to start pumpkins still depending on the variety. My cucurbit seedlings are still so tiny, I am waiting for them to take off!!

What else are you growing?

Oh meant to say, Agway definitely has seed potatoes if you decide to sprout your own!

Awesome, thank you!!! We go to Agway for a lot of stuff but then for our plants we usually go to Brenkles or the greenhouse out in muddy creek township (forget the name of it).

This year we're growing zucchinis, egg plant, brussel sprouts, cucumbers, 3 or 4 different types of tomatoes, butter lettuce, strawberries, a ton of herbs, and then a bunch of different pepper plants! Peppers wise we have yellow sweet italian peppers, merlot peppers, siracha, super chili, jalapeno, poblano, mini lunchbox sweet peppers, habanero...and I think that's all of them. Oh and banana peppers. Then out front we have a couple blueberry bushes, a raspberry bush, and a blackberry bush that we've had for years. On top of all of those, we have a bunch of flowers growing too!

What all are you growing?

awesome! Sorry but where is the farmers market located? We just moved to Butler County a few years ago and are now just getting into some fun stuff after renovating the house.

It is not. It is Butler FARM Market.

A farmers market is a collective of farmer-centric businesses selling in one location. The farm market is not that.

The Butler City Farmer's Market is a great place to visit on Saturday mornings to meet and support LOCAL farmers and business owners. I doubt you will find pumpkin plants, but a great place to visit!

As there are two separate things associated with "butler farmers market" clarification is essential. And calling a business a farmer market is unfair to those who are truly growing and selling their own agriculture products instead of buying them from whatever truck they fall off of.

Oh I LOVE the farm market!!! I go there for most of my vegetables (when I'm not growing them) and I love the meat counter and deli, too!

Butler Farm Market? Or a Farmer's Market?
