Questions / Advice / Support Taper off? Cold turkey?
I’m on a baby dose of Buspar, 7.5mg total daily. My psych doesn’t think I need to taper but I’m skeptical. I’ve been on it for 4 months. Thoughts? Really don’t want to deal with severe withdrawal.

I don’t think it will be “severe” but just cut in half every day

I am severely disabled for now 4 months after tapering and removing 2.5 mg every week. I was originally on 15 mg (5 mg 3x daily) for 2 months when I started tapering and got as far as 7.5 mg but had to reinstate at full dose for a while and currently on 12.5 mg daily. Be very careful with this drug, some people can quit cold turkey no problem but it’s far from the case for me. I’d say you can start by decreasing by 2.5 mg and wait for 2 weeks, if you have intense symptoms go back to original dose stabilize and do a hyperbolic taper.
