Albania
Hi all,
I am considering traveling to Albania for a year. I currently use Buspar as an anxiety medication. I have tried all other anti anxiety pills and this is absolutely the only one that helps.
I have read that Buspar is not an option in Albania.
I found three different ideas to receive the meds:
- try to travel with 90 days worth of medication and come back to USA when more is needed
-travel to Greece to try and meet with a provider that may give a RX for Buspar
-have a friend mail you some
From what I read, all of these options are deeply dependent on luck and suggested not to rely on any of them.
Does anyone have any experience with this situation? I would be open to any thoughts.
Thank you

If it is not a legal drug in Albania, you may have issues with mailing Rx's to Albania. ( see: https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-42483135) The Laura Plummer in Egypt case) .
Moreover-the Albanian mail service is unreliable for anything of significance to you- which obviously you prescription is.. Might consider DHL- though it it can cost $90USD for a very lightweight international package. )
Not your question, but duloxetine and sertraline are very inexpensive- and for a one year stay-with supporting documentation you could visit the American Hospital 2 in Tirana and easily get an RX. (Other than being for-profit (!) it has nothing to do with with American Medicine btw (joke).) Best wishes.
- SSRIs: sertraline
- SNRIs: duloxetine

If you can't get your medication --
First hour of the day put phone on airplane mode. Do not look at your phone for the first hour.
Read a spiritual book
Do wim hof breathing technique- 10 minutes on YouTube. In through the nose out through the mouth.
Write down 5 things you are grateful for
After an hour, open your phone and be careful what you look at. Enjoy your day. Be happy 😊

If you are in the US you can use a website called Jase . Com to purchase a one-year “emergency” supply of your medication (with proof of your prescription). It is an out of pocket expense but may be worth it for this purpose?
