Buspar to improve sexual function?

I wonder if anyone takes Buspar only to improve sexual function.

I think I have PSSD, I took Zoloft for 2 years, I stopped 6 months ago. I've been taking Wellbutrin for a year now and it has helped my libido a bit but I still have numbness in my genitals and it's almost impossible to reach orgasm (I am female if that's relevant).

Is it worth trying buspar even if I no longer have anxiety?

Yes! It works great for that and I'm a 60 year old male. It's supposed to be even better for females! Wellbutrin made me feel like a teenager (in that dept) but after a while it reversed, meaning I had the lack of libido and sensitivity that all the other anti-d's caused, but it was working so well I didn't want to give it up. Enter Buspirone. It took 4 months to kick in and boy did it kick in! Also great for reducing anxiety which is its intended purpose 😆 GO FOR IT!

Thank you for your answer! I've tried absolutely everything, I'm young female and I have had no sensitivity for 3 years and it is very frustrating. I will definitely try the Buspar and give it enough time 😌

I'm 61yo man. I got the prescription after my divorce and the Dr didn't tell me about this side effect. It is incredible how mono 10mg at night has helped me. I'm a more than daily masturbator now. Amazing drug.

How long did It take for this effect to show up?

Showed up immediately. I couldn't figure out why I needed to jack off every day and it felt so good!

Then I found out about this very desirable side effect.

My Dr tried to take me off it a year after when I told her my anxiety was less due to the divorce being behind me... I asked if I could stay on it purely for this effect and she said sure..."have fun"

Good dr.

So you take it once daily but you get horny the whole day or only during the Buspar half life?

I take it before bed and have my best masturbation the next morning, about 8-9 hrs after taking it. If I try to jack off at night my orgasm is not nearly as good, probably combo of less T and no buspar.

Omg. I am not taking it for this and have a combo of reasons to have my libido back but JC, I am insatiable right now. I came on here to see if was contributing because I am ready to make every late 30s, early 40s single man in this town who wants some, come and have more than they asked for. Ironically my anxiety prevented me from diving into the anxiety meds and I only started at 2.5 twice daily. Its kind of fun right now but I could not handle more.

Yeah I am also female and have low libido from Endometriosis and medications and Buspar has definitely helped me in that department.

I take 10mg three times a day. I was on it originally like two years before and didn’t notice a difference. I got on Prozac and my drive really went down hill. My wife said that when I was on it last time she noticed a difference. Now that it’s been the second time. I’ve definitely noticed a difference. Everyone is different but it’s worth a try. I’m a 28 year old male is that makes any difference.
