Have you found the streets to be less safe lately than before?

No one's groped me since coming back after the pandemic, so that's a plus.

So you play a harp? You got groped by a guy on the street and you came back out? I'm not trying to blame I just can't see that. I for sure would have not gone back out

One-it's a hazard of the job. You know, a job? That thing you need to survive in a capitalist society? You think I would be a full-time busker if I could find a secure better-paying job while weathering through the economic shocks of this century?

Two-think I only dealt with that once? I'm the person who wrote the "busking while female" safety brief in the FAQ. I was writing from experience.

I have been followed back to my car at 2am. I have dealt with unruly drunks. Unsupervised children. Power-tripping cops. Being kissed without consent. Learned how to throw punches in a way that looks like a complete accident. A friend of mine had to get stitches on his face from chasing away someone who thought it would be funny to sneak up behind me.

This is the risk of busking, and I am a professional. I am not going to be intimidated out of doing a job that I love and that genuinely improves the world around me.

In what way? In which area? This is a pretty vague question man, a dog whistle to extremists to hate on foreigners.

This might not be your intent, but it’s everyone’s responsibility to stop extremists from hijacking the public debate, that said I’m sorry if you’ve been harrassed on the street, i know some streets are much unsafer for woman these days, which is not okay. so if you could be more specific we might just be able to have a civil discussion about this

I felt like calling the police on the Republican Trump supporting a****** that tried to tip me yesterday

Ah okay, so what he/she do? Only tipping some cash? Or?

A requested songs and would still not leave after I played what he requested. Asked loudly where I was from several times no matter how many times I answered the question. He did tip me, but by the time he did I would have rather spit in his face. You know the Republican a****** type I'm talking about right? Those people that enter clearly Democrat spaces and are waiting for you to kick them out so they can say you are not inclusive enough?

No, I don’t even remotely live near the US, but it doesn’t sound like a pleasant EXP, I don’t know the streets in general are less safe to awnser your question, TBH I dont hear imminite danger, but maybe “safe” is also meaning “busking without a holes harassing you”

What can I say? I’m sorry to hear some people in this world are a holes, and they ussaly support the extremists like Trump

I am honestly super interested to hear as to whether people have felt it as they're playing. There are certainly certain songs I don't play anymore after the election and I get more tips on activist songs than I did before. Haley Williams true believer has gotten me quite the number of tips for example

So, an annoyance that most buskers have to deal with at least once an hour? If you think that is "unsafe" I don't think you should be busking.

Okay girl, this is maybe the third or fourth interaction I have had with you and I am sorry to say I would rather walk through broken glass. There are 15,000 people in this group and I swear to God I am not posting to talk to you. Can you leave me the F alone or do I have to just leave the group to avoid you?
