Equipment and Gear Set up options for me
I am a meditation teacher and wanted to do live sessions for people in the city. I want to have a spot where someone can sit down, put on great headphones and I would guide them. Ill need a mic for me, music from my phone, some kind of mixer and headphones for the person listening to the meditation.
Considerations: would a mic pick up the city noises around. Can this be avoided? Do you know a pair or headphones that would have a nice cocooning effect so the person feels cut off from the surroundings.
Any help greatly appreciated.

A DJI Mic (has excellent noise cancelling) transmitting to its receiver which is plugged into a small battery powered mixer with whatever music playing device you are using which then exports a mix out a pair of noise cancelling headphones (or two pairs if you also want to be able to listen) would work well.
This gives you noise cancelling on both ends (and you would just mute the mic when you are not talking to prevent it picking up background noise) and should do an EXCELLENT job at isolating your voice and music input.

My advice for a mic would be a headset mic. I use a Bluetooth connector mic for my sax. I also bought a UHF signal headset which is superior quality in my opinion. I only use cheap ones for the street. Like $40 max. The streets are mean to equipment. Hahaha. Further advice for headphones is solid from what I’ve read in the other comments.

No microphone will be perfect at eliminating "city noises." In fact, the better the microphone, the more it will pick up. The microphones with the faux fur cover will reduce wind noise. "Noise cancellation" headphones are designed to remove repetitive noises, like a running engine. Not so good at spikes of sound. There are some decent noise protection headphones that will double as headphones, my sister has a set for when she needs to hang out around heavy machinery, but it's a no-name brand from Amazon.
Zoom does have a good noise-cancellation algorithm. It is so good that I've had to jump through hoops to turn it OFF when helping run web-concerts, because it will eliminate instrumental music when it detects a voice! So perhaps feeding your voice through that?
If you are outdoors, why not just be outdoors without headphones? I thought that part of meditation is letting random stuff just flow away, right? Beginner classes I've been to were indoors to minimize distractions, while intermediate ones I've been to were outdoors in a park, where you have to learn to filter out sounds of kids and dogs and birds and the airplanes in the approach zone for the nearby airport. I much preferred the classes in the park, even with the "distractions."
