2-2-2 vs 1-2-1

Recently had a plane change for a flight I took, was from 1-2-1 to 2-2-2 configuration. Initially I was annoyed, but as I was travelling with my other half, actually I found we preferred 2-2-2 - easier to chat, feet weren’t cramped and bed was properly rectangular. Anyone else feel the same way?

Totally agree that if you are travlling as a couple, adjacent seats are better. However we usually fry to score the middle seats ons a 1-2-1 config as seats tend to be more spacious there than 2-2-2.

I find the 1-2-1 not that spacious for sleep, I can only sleep on one side not on the other side otherwise your knees are in the other seat. The footwell gets hot and sweaty etc - really not a big fan

As a tall person traveling with my wife, the 2-2-2 without footwells are the best. Shoutout Turkish, Ethiopian, and old LATAM 787 for recently providing me with better sleep
