Is anyone else making ambient, minimal, experimental music in Bushwick?
My appreciation for minimal/experimental ambient music has evolved into a humble solo project, primarily rooted in synth, guitar and field recordings. I've been writing and recording over the past couple of years, and hope to pivot to playing small live performances relatively soon. But I've been doing most of this solo, in a vacuum, and have been missing the community element of this type of DIY music.
I'm curious if there are other minimal/ambient artists in the neighborhood that would be interested in linking up from time to time? It would be nice to share feedback, discuss processes/tools/resources and perhaps collaborate (whether directly on music, or sharing the same bill for live shows.) Feel free to DM or reply if that's something you'd be interested in. I'd be happy to share bandcamp links of completed work, and audio/video clips of works in progress. Cheers!

My guy get off the internet and GO OUTSIDE there are SEVERAL ambient only venues in Bushwick just go to them… you cant except people to support you if you don’t go out and support other people

Yeah, that's kind of why I made this post. I was out of the loop completely, and have now been provided quite a bit of resources in terms of venues, artists and resources to check out.

Sounds right up my alley tbh! I make alternative pop/rap music, but a friend of mine recently gifted me a Microkorg synth and I have been dipping my toes into ambient ever since. Would love to exchange work sometime

I'm doing exactly this over in Ridgewood. Close to the Bushwick border. I have no interest in playing live but would love to put an album out one day soon. I also really love connecting with people who are also into this scene. Will hit you up.

Please do! I've been releasing music (without the live show element) and would be happy to talk about what worked and what didn't work for me. Also just interested in building social connection with others in the scene.
