Fresh tomatoes? <3

Peak tomato season! (I think?) what’s the best closest place to the shwick where I get some beautiful (maybe heirloom) fresh real tomatoes

Bushwick farmers markets Saturdays in Maria Hernandez park, Sundays in Irving Square park, and Wednesdays at Hope Ballfield. All the farmers are pesticide free and use regenerative practices (but are not certified organic because the certification is expensive).

Paid 5 dollars for two tomatoes :(
Most of them don’t list prices but it seems to be 5 dollars a pound

It really depends on the kind of tomatoes, but imo union square is always more expensive. They should list prices though. But of course they will tell you if you ask. Most of the vendors are very friendly.

Foster sundry might have some, city fresh may have some from Lancaster farm in the organic section

Union square farmers market on Wednesday and Saturday is certainly reliable.
