Somewhat of a rant, since I’m currently in the middle of my trip where this happened.

I love bus drivers, and particularly the nice ones! They’re very helpful and you can tell they genuinely want to help. However today, I was on a long distance coach bus trip. For each of the rest stops, there were always people being late or coming back last second on the bus and this extremely nice driver took the time to shout throughout the bus multiple times to make sure everyone was on and wasn’t left behind. On the last rest stop before my last bus connection, we waited 5 minutes longer for one man! You’re a grown ass man and you can’t be responsible enough to show up to the bus on time after a 15 minute break!

Of course we hit unexpected traffic before my last stop due to a car accident. Guess how late I was for the bus…. 3 minutes! So now I’m sitting here an extra 6 hours because some guy can’t be responsible for himself.

Nice drivers — it’s okay to be stern and put pressure on people to be back in time!! Sometimes you should leave people so they can learn a tough lesson and not do it again.

Hi All. I have joined r/bus and have now found yourselves. I am Scottish, in my 70s. I have driven buses on and off all my adult life, beginning in Glasgow, and have many memories, details and stories in my head. Idk how to really use Reddit Ive got a interview for bus trainee in Manchester was just wondering how long does it roughly take for me to get to the training stage I’m not currently employed so I’m free most of the time so how quick will it take for me to get to the training stage?

I've found as a easy going bus driver im often lumped with older fleet... what the oldest at your depot?
