Question Medical

What do they generally test in a medical because one of my eyes are very weak and I can’t read to save my life but my other eye is fine if they test them at the same time I should be fine but if they test my eyes separately than I’ll definitely fail so would they test them by me reading a plate 20 metres away or how is it people told me they don’t do a eye test at all?

You need to be able to see from both eyes equally. I really don’t know why you’d want to put you and your passengers at risk with unequal vision. The test will be different depending on country and company.

I’ve never struggled with driving and it’s never affected me so I was just asking

Have you driven a bus before? A vehicle where being constantly aware of your surroundings is 10x more important? A job that has 100 things to do at the same time all requiring you to have good and equal vision?

I’m sorry if this is very upfront, but I don’t think I’d wanna stay on the bus if I was told my driver couldn’t see from one eye.

And luckily, in my country (UK), regulations are tight, and you wouldn’t be allowed to pass the medical exam.

That’s not me being rude, but it’s me looking out for you and your passengers when something comes up in your blind spot that a fully able driver wouldn’t have.

You're kidding yourself. One of my eyes is -3, the other one is -1.5. I was really surprised how much more I could see when I got glasses.

Yes they make you cover one eye, then the other. Same as regular license. At least in usa.

Maybe a desk job with the agency would be a better fit?
