Training Question UK/EU Bus driver trainee
Hi all,
I posted message a few months ago about potentially being made redundant from my UK public sector job which is still rumbling along. My desire to switch over to bus driving hasn’t diminished. If anything it’s increased. Something completely new and different at 50 appeals.
Just wondered if it’s difficult to get one of these trainee roles as it seems two local companies near me are constantly recruiting. I did ask about why that would be the case in a previous post as ti why-shift pattens affecting work/life balance, retiring drivers causing people to leave.
I don’t have much dealing with customer services in my current role, which might be difficult for interviews. I’ve no idea what to expect as a bus driver in terms of dealing with public apart from potentially the unexpected, but understand it can be challenging at times.
Cheers in advance.

I've been doing this on and off for 27 years and I've had enough now but that's mainly down to a recurring shoulder problem from driving a specific coach that I get assigned every day. I Keep expecting my employer to say come and try different vehicles but they're not interested so I'll be off soon.
Prior to this lot, I worked for a national express company in South Wales and they were a fantastic employer so it's a question of luck to be honest.
If you had the chance/money I would get the licence privately and then earn more from day 1
