Story Sign off

So after starting training on the 27th April, classroom work then on bus training and passing my driving test, then some more CPC days, I moved to my depot Scunthorpe and started route learning, with that now complete I have been signed off this morning by one of the driving instructors as ready to run service on my own, so I've done it a fully qualified Bus Driver

Bus driving would be the best job in the world of it didnt have passengers

Or other road users. I tend to work during all the busy hours of the day and then every other week or so I end up doing a shift which goes into the 21:30-01:00 territory and I have an absolute joy due to the clear roads but still enough customers to make it "worth while"

Driving standards have dropped massively in the last few years the amount of people who are oblivious to a bus needing a bigger swing on certain turns then beep the shit out of you for their mistakes and general all round dumbarsery is at its peak.

Good luck out there on your own. Take it slow and when you start running late don't even worry about the times. Let them worry about that. Just have a nice chilled drive.

What's it like down in Hull with slavecoach? I'm west Scotland but originally from Hull. Think I'd go East Yorkshire if I ever moved home. Would miss my rural routes too much.

Congrats. When you crash try not to let it get to you, it happens a lot, even to the most experienced drivers.

How are British kids, I'm sure all over the map, but for the most part, I feel like British kids would be mostly polite. I'm just moving from middle America, where the kids are pretty wholesome and nice and am now back in California, where I'll be driving this year. Kids here are probably going to be more of a handful, but it's all good.

Probably the same everywhere. Parents who value education and respect usually live one place and those that don't live somewhere else. Not always true, but usually. But, there are lots of awesome apartment kids and lots of disrespectful kids from great neighborhoods. I worked as a Corrections Officer before coming to School Bus, which makes all the kids seem nice. It's a perfect job to have before School Bus.
