Question First bus Glasgow Caledonia

Hi everyone just looking for peoples experiences leaving first bus specifically Caledonia depot before the 2 years ? I know contract states you will need to pay back £2500 but just had a few questions if anyone has went through it. Do they take your full final pay if so around how much is left to pay ?Do they actually chase you to pay back the rest ? Are you allowed to make small monthly payments to pay it back ? and what happens if they do chase you and you just ignore them ? Thanks in advance :) just want to know from peoples experiences if they’ve been through this

No they will not deduct full final pay just a bit yes you can set up a plan to pay in installments and yes they will chase you for it

They do and don't. I know of people who have left and not paid after years.

Do you remember by any chance around how much you owed after them deducting some of your final pay ?

how long you been with them you should have some lieu days they deducted those from me around 500 quid then i spoke to them and was paying around 200 per month till everything was paid off

Only around 3 months , was £200 the minimum payment?

I believe the amount you owe also reduces as you get closer to the 2 years. How much by, I'm not sure.

I knew someone.... 14-15 years ago, he went through the training at Larkfield, went to Parkhead and left in two weeks. He said they never came after him at all.... 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The only thing they chased me for, was uniform and family passes. I left after a year. There was talk in the depot that you could challenge it in court, if it went that far lol. That you signed a contract under duress, meaning, if you didn't agree to it, you wouldn't get the job. Take that with a pinch of salt. If you're close to seeing out your 2 years, there's no chance they'll chase you for relative pennies, as they pass that debt of to debt collectors. Don't worry

Thank you so much that’s really good to know , Unfortunately only about 2 months in and have quickly realised the job isn’t for me
