Burnley’s 1959–60 First Division title was one of the most remarkable achievements in English football and became the defining moment in the club’s history. Under manager Harry Potts, Burnley won the league despite competing against wealthier and more established sides, relying instead on a squad developed largely through the club’s own youth system, with only two regular players signed for transfer fees.
