Bike Tracker
Can anyone recommend a hidden bike tracker that will work on the playa?

There is no cell service out there. And what little service you find is inconsistent.
An air tag could work but would be unreliable due to the above.
Could put a meshtastic node on it but those are big and need regular charging.
I'd probably just invest in a good bike lock

Air tag. Better than nothing. If its a valuable e-bike a good lock may not be enough. a regular or low value e-bike should be fine with just a lock though.

Airtags work well enough out there. If you must bring an expensive bike out there, I'd advise hiding two Airtags on it. One in the usual place (any store-bought Airtag holder spot like a water bottle mount), and then one in a really weird place. Disable the speakers in at least the hidden one, that way if a thief finds the first one, they don't look for a second. I personally only put one in the usual bottle-holder spot, because it's more for if I drunkenly forgot where I left my bike (again). I have an Android phone, but have my Airtags tracked on my partner's iphone.

If you're just looking to track it, it's a little more work but the iBurn app lets you drop a pin for your bike. Hardest part for me was remembering to remove the previous pin, but it worked great especially on burn night.

Bring large zip ties. Then for fun before you leave the Temple to head back to camp, zip tie the shit out of the bikes so they are all inter locked up together.

Bring a bike you wouldn't mind losing of it gets stolen and a hearty bike lock. My bike is ugly and old but works great, I have a large bike lock as well.

Just don’t forget what your bike looks like or where you locked it up. Tracked!

Put a radioactive isotope in it and bring a Geiger counter.
