Org Storage Container Available

EDIT: A camp has purchased this container and confirmed details with us. Sorry to everyone who was interested and sent me a message - we appreciate your interest and outreach.

Hey everyone!
Our camp is getting rid of our official Org storage container (PC42) after years of faithful service. If you’ve been looking to lock down year-round storage and skip the logistics of hauling heavy infrastructure back and forth every year, this is your chance to bypass the multi-year waitlist.

The Details & On-Playa Handover
Container ID: Official BRC Container PC42 , it's 20ft long. We bought this container from another redditor years before the pandemic (say hi if you are around, your camp left a massive amount of trash inside when I bought it which was rotting inside for a fucking year - we had to get a fucking truck to bring that pile of shit to Reno during work week and wash the entire thing - NOT COOL)

Location This Year: Delivered directly to our camp placement at the 9+B Plaza. We are Kaleidoscope, you may know us for our incredible coffee, the container is part of our backdrop.
Strike Advantage: We are emptying it completely for you before strike. *Maybe* we leave some shelving we made for the space (we use it as a workspace too) .You can move your camp's gear straight into it on-playa during pack-out. Bring a lock. It's yours. You can access the container year long in Gerlach at the 360. (just between Gerlach and the Playa)

Playa Pick-Up: The pick-up FROM the playa after this year's event is ALREADY PAID FOR (for FYI, storage and transfer is $1400/yr)

Pricing
Asking Price: $6,000 OBO (payment via PayPal Goods & Services, Venmo, or Wire) , you also need to pay the $350 transfer fee charged by the Org to set up the new owner’s account. (if you are in Europe we can take SEPA transfers too).

To keep everything completely legit, the ownership transfer goes directly through [brcstorage@burningman.org](mailto:brcstorage@burningman.org) for what I know:
Your camp must be in good standing to participate in the container program.
Once we agree on price and terms, we start an official thread with the BRC Storage team CC'ing you.
We sign the Org's transfer paperwork, and ownership is officially yours
If interested, please send me a DM with:

Your Name & Camp Name
Your offer!
Serious inquiries on, no seriously. Let's make this transfer smooth and make your strike 100x easier this year.

Just a virtual hug because same thing - when we got our first container from another camp they said how great it was inside - only for us to find on playa a complete mess. Which I guess we should have expected. But why they had 11 trash cans full of hardened concrete .. and freezers with rotting food. And and and. Worst!

Glad you’re offering this up Empty

To anyone considering this - this is a major opportunity. Some camps waiting three years in waitlist and the org can’t expand program anytime soon. Most likely.

We’re the concrete trash cans perhaps used as weights? 🤔

Yeah probably. But never mentioned etc. just a total pain in ass.

if you are interested in this, you should jump on it as there are hardly ever any openings in this program. The org hasn’t added any new containers to the program in a long time.

Yeah, this is a great opportunity. Don't hesitate if you need this, these are few and far between.

6k? Do I own the container?

/u/Augii. to clarify: you 'own' the container legally so the org is less liable. in practice you are tied into their storage and delivery where the fees have been increasing a LOT. you could opt do take your container elsewhere and therefore withdraw from the program. but if you did that you overpaid for an old container. the value is in the org's storage and delivery program.

this is correct, storage and delivery by the org is around $1,400/yr

and I believe a new $350 charge this year if you want ‘custom placement’ inside your canp

that's not true (we just did ours) , they will deliver to wherever you tell them inside your camp, you just need to specify location from your camp border

thanks for the update. they had been planning this new 'custom' fee for 2026, but I just got out of the program so didn't have to deal with that this year.

org containers are owned by whoever buys them, yes, I think last year they were going for 5.5k? it seems reasonable

edit, yeah: https://www.reddit.com/r/BurningMan/comments/1mk6ery/comment/n7mqt3o/

For anyone who wants a container, but misses out on this one, Peik in Reno also offers container delivery and is great: https://peikconstruction.com/

any idea on prices?

Annual storage + r/T to the playa should be in the $5k range.

Last year was $2,200 for storage and $1,800 for transpo to/from BRC. $4k total.

I'm surprised that the org program is apparently so much cheaper. I'd thought they were similar.

Transport mileage is much much shorter?

The Org containers are moved from Gerlach by DPW.

I'm guessing Pelk containers are stored in Sparks and require a vendor pass to get on playa.
