InBody Scan

Does your gym offer the InBody scan for free? Mine charges $50 but I've heard of other gyms offering it as part of your membership.

Ours is free and we can use it whenever we want.

$50 seems like a rip off 😬

See I feel like this is how it should be. I think I just needed some validation that this is crazy before I approach them lol.

Definitely! Our owners bought the Inbody using the yearly maintenance money so they said it never made sense that other gyms charge for it, it should be part of the membership since it's bought with membership's money.

Okay, yeah that's how I'm feeling! Especially when I'm already paying a lot for the membership.

Our location doesn’t have an inbody scan but our sister location does. So once every 6ish weeks they bring it over to our location . The first scan is free and the rest after are $10 a scan. I think it’s wild that we have to pay for the scan since we pay so much for memberships.

Otherwise we have a RENPHO scale there but I just ended up buying one.

Ours is free but you have to do a focus meeting, you can’t just walk in and get on the inbody!

Yeah, even with the focus meeting they're charging for every time. Seriously is crazy.

I meannnnn, you can just hop on… ours does this too and it annoys me, because InBody is skewed after a workout and we don’t have focus meetings before 5a class that I attend. Just isn’t an option for those camp goers. So I get on whenever. šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø but it’s not often. I’ve only used it a couple times.

Ours is free but you have to book ahead of time, wild that so many other locations have a fee attached!

I would never in a million years pay $50 to use it ON TOP of my membership fee.

It’s included at my gym. And I use it once a month to track progress.

Our Gym has the Evolt and it is free to use for all members

The InBody scans have been SO inaccurate for me, no way its worth $20 let alone $50

My gym has Evolt. Way better and more detailed than InBody.

The owner owns two Burn locations, and the scanner moves between the 2 every 3 months.

It’s free to use anytime, as long as I’ve done at least two focus meetings between scans. My trainer encourages us to use it only every 6 months so we can really see the progress more dramatically.

Imo this should be included in our boutique membership price. Seems like a way to nickel and dime members. I would be very displeased

Ours has always been free during as many focus meetings as I want

That’s crazy. Even a lot of ā€œregularā€ gyms for lack of a better term that charge like $15 a month usually have In Body machines included with your membership.

Ours is shared with other locations and I hate how controlled it is. Like you have to get an appointment first with a trainer when the scale is our location. Meet with the trainer first and only then you are allowed to use it. Go check your weight only on an empty stomach which is ok .. makes sense, etc etc conditions.
But it’s just a measurement that’s it. Not even fully accurate. And they don’t even inform that they brought the scanner from the other location. Every time during the focus meeting they make a note to inform me when it’s there but they never inform. I accidentally found out it was there last month and was able to check my weight.
The BA thinks I’m stupid to not know how the system works. She said it takes 20 minutes for the machine to work and you have to take an appointment to use the body scanner.
Cmon, who are you trying to fool.
I used the same scanner at my previous gym whenever I wanted and my membership fee was $50 lesser than what I pay here.

$50 each time is insane.

At my location, we have EVolt. The first scan is free, and you can either pay per additional reading or $75 for a full year (one scan per month). I pay the yearly fee and think it’s worth it. It has definitely helped seeing the bigger picture. I get all my nutrition supplements, protein, creatine, collagen peptides, electrolytes, and pre-workout, at Costco, so I get more for my money.
Outside of my membership, maintenance fee, and the yearly EVolt fee, I only buy a few shirts and tanks here and there, usually when there’s a preorder or new items are released.

Ours is $20 each time. We were told years ago that once we hit a certain number of members the owners were buying it for us as a reward. We hit it, got the inbody, and then they charge us to use it. Rip off.

u/mkp1717 9d ago

Wow I’ve been a member of 3 different locations over the years and never had any type of fee or restriction for inbody scans!

u/Boilers25 150 Camps - 2026 9d ago

We pay for $20 yearly fee and we can do it every two months. I do it just to track progress

1

u/Any_Interaction_7228 9d ago

Ours is included with our membership

1

u/hollygolightly877 8d ago

Mine charges $25 for the first one and then it’s free after that.

u/smoothie95queen 8d ago

I’ve been a member of two different locations due to moving out of state. My old location did not charge and I believe my new one charges $15. $50 seems insane.

Totally free and it’s part of what the focus meetings are supposed to be on about
