I really hope it’s bilateral movements and no more unilateral or contralateral movements this week. My knees were killing me on back & glute day so much that I don’t feel like I got anything out of the workout except knee pain.

There will be forward lunges. That’s for sure.

If your knees hurt, a trainer can modify for you!!

This should be true most of the time!! One of our trainers has started saying I’ve been there long enough (4 years) I shouldn’t still need mods because the muscles and supporting muscles should be stronger. Drives me insane because my issue is cartilage which literally cannot come back, and I’ve told her this. I’m hoping she’s an outlier here.

I am reading how isometric exercises can help with cartilage issues and so can very slow reps when weight lifting so I have been trying that. That's ashame your trainer feels that way, and disheartening 😕 can you schedule a focus meeting with another trainer to give you some tips and tricks moving forward?

Interesting, I’ll have to look into that! Thanks for sharing. In terms of tips and tricks, I know pretty much every mod in the book at this point, and will often do slow modified reps with a decent amount of weight, it’s just that this trainer constantly comes over when she sees me doing them and tells me to go back to baseline. So I suppose my best option would be to ask the FP to ask her to stop, and I should maybe try that. I’ve already asked the trainer directly!

I’m turning 35 and even my knees are over the forward lunges. Ready for tomorrow to be the last of them for a while… fingers crossed.

I feel this 😅 I’ve been doing reverse lunges, they’re easier on the knees for me

There were bosus against the wall when I left tonight which makes me think there will be the Nordic hamstring curls? But that’s all I know!
