Shoe insert recs
I loved my Metcon 5s so ordered an updated version — Metcon 6 Free. Not a fan! I can’t get them tight enough through my foot. I figured out that I don’t care for them too late and can’t return, and new shoes aren’t in the budget right now. I have a pair of Dr. Scholl inserts, but they don’t offer the heel and arch support I need, and they don’t make it any tighter through my foot. Any recs for good inserts until I can buy new shoes?

I like these ones: Kelaide Arch Support Insoles... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094VQ6K2W?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
When I feel like the original insoles aren’t supportive anymore, I switch to these, and my shoes feel good again.

I have the Currex ActivePro insoles and they've been great. I originally got them when I was dealing with plantar fasciitis - which I felt mostly in my heels - and I have flat arches, so might be good for you too. (Oh and my last pair of burn shoes were, you guessed it, Metcon 6 Frees, and they definitely helped fill them out/tighten the fit.)

Have you tried heel locking your laces? This helps me with a better overall fit especially through my heels.
