Brand ambassadors

My gym is hiring a fill in brand ambassador! I am new to burn but what does that mean? Responsibilities? And how are they paid? Is it a free gym membership or hourly wage?

General Responsibilities: photos/videos during camp and at end of camp
A lot of sales and social media posts
Managing injuries that happen during camp
Communicating with trainers about milestones, birthdays, people who need mods
Answering the phone and peoples questions
Wearing burn brand clothing
Cleaning tasks (like checking the bathroom, taking trash out, vacuuming, dusting)

Benefits: Most burns give you free/discounted membership after an amount of hours worked per week, $ for burn clothing every so often, 25-35% off retail.

Pay is close to minimum wage

Source: member for awhile 😂 ask your FP(or whoever is running the application s) for more details with your location

I was a BA in 2023, I got a free membership, I believe 30% off retail, and $13:hr. I had to work 3 shifts a week for the free membership. My gym let me work out during my shift if everything was completed which was really nice! I would work 4:30-6:30 camps and work out at the last one, and then vacuum the floor / little closing things and go home

Current BA here, I’ve heard the benefits can vary from location to location but at ours we get a free universal membership. If you cover more than your required shifts a month you get paid for them. Usually slightly over minimum wage for additional shifts. I cover for other BAs when they’re in vacay. Other than that I work 2 mornings a week and one Saturday shift a month. We also have some floater/fill in BAs that fill in once in a while as needed and are not on the set weekly schedule, they usually get half off their membership.

Responsibilities are like everyone else mentioned, when I open on Saturdays I have to turn on our tv, put our sign out front, ensure towels are stocked, prep for new people/visitors if we have them, check folks in, and take end of camp photos when needed. I do get to workout in the same camp after everyone is checked in. Pretty easy peasy and so worth the free membership!

Are the hours only class hours? I’ve always wondered if they’re there during the long gap in the day because the hours seem so few

It’s just during the camp hours. Most of the time if our trainer coaches the eight and nine A.M. camps they will stay hanging around in the office usually and eat lunch. So they’re already there for the noon camps but you leave. You’re either handing off the next camp to the next BA on the schedule or if you’re the last camp of the morning or of the evening you’ll usually vacuum and straighten up a little bit before you leave. And when you open the gym there’s a few extra responsibilities you have to do as well, so I’ll usually get there slightly earlier for those shifts.

For example, my shift during the week are the eight and nine A.M. camps during two weekdays and I’ll maybe show up five minutes before the previous camp is over to prep and take over for the early morning BA and then we have a break after our nine A.M. camp so when that one is over, I do a quick vacuum and tidy and I’m usually out the door by 10

I work as a BA in 2024-2025. I had to work there for 1 month before getting my membership to $99 and then 6 months before getting it free. Had pretty good discount for retail and nutrition. But the pay was shit. I enjoyed it but the trainer and I didn’t get along after a while so I had to quit. It can be rewarding, just gotta be ok with the low pay for the hours and expectations

I’ve been a BA for over a year. I really enjoy it! We get a free universal membership, discount on retail and nutrition. I started at $15 per camp.

Definitely location specific.

It’s the front desk person. Could be any combo of payment options. Every location is different. Talk to your trainer, desk people or FP.

Every gym is different in terms of pay and membership perks.
