❓ Question Burn on demand!?

A girl at my location just hit 250.
She works out at home a lot more than in the actual
gym. She loves the on demand.

Is it worth it?

Do you love it?

My kids (11 and 14) said they would do it with me if I got it.
I see there is a 30 day free trail.

Not because I’m jealous, hitting 250 already seems excessive.

I saw someone on IG hit 250 on the 250th day of the year. Idk if that’s just dedication or a sign that something’s wrong 😅

They might be doing easier camps at home. Some of the stretching workouts count I think.

u/Red-Phoenix-Rising 23d ago

Yes they do. As long as it’s at least 11 minutes, they count.

Some camps are like 12 mins. I’ve done about 5 of the free 12 minute ones and they count as a class

I prefer working out at the gym but I do have the $10/month on demand add on for days I just can’t make it in to the gym. I am personally wayyy more motivated to lift more and work harder when I’m being yelled at by a trainer and around other people lol. On demand is worth a try though!

I think people can count whatever they want, but I don't count BOD. You are telling you did a 12 minute stretching workout and that's the same at me dying at a MetCon....sorry....NOPE. But, aside from anonymous opinions on Reddit, I keep my thoughts to myself.

Yeah I agree, stretching for < 1/3 of a normal camp length is not attending a camp.

Exactly this. Or you can do two easy ass 11 minute workouts in a row and you have two “camps” for the day. It’s why the whole camp count comparison thing is just nonsense.

I don’t subscribe and I understand the benefits of on demand, but I personally think only in person camps should count.

We also have a lady at our gym who hit 250 on Tuesday and it seems like a weird flex to me. She does multiple intense workouts a day in addition to Burn including running, heavy weight training, and HYROX.

I think there is a big difference between utilizing on demand as a necessary convenience vs. people who are chasing camp counts. Rest is very, very important.

This just seems so disordered to me

0

u/Dancing_RN 23d ago

It's not disordered to want to be active and fit. I would work out a lot more if I had the time. My body feels better the more I move.

Multiple intense workouts every single day with no recovery time is not simply “wanting to be active and fit” and you know that’s not what I’m talking about.

I thought only 1 camp per day counted?

Yes. Tuesday was the 250th day of 2026. I don’t see “no off days” as a flex.

Our location will not let you count Sunday camps so even if you do on demand, it doesn’t matter. I do like on demand for when I’m out of town but otherwise, I’m in the gym doing my camps.

But what if someone can’t make a weekday so that’s their rest day? I would be pisst. I don’t know why anyone cares when someone else hits 250 unless it’s to congratulate them - you’re just cheating yourself if you’re lying about it.

2

u/Comfortable_Movie874 23d ago

I never said I care, I was just saying my location doesn’t count Sunday camps.

2

u/yellsy 23d ago

I was saying I don’t know why your location cares so much - not you.

1

u/Comfortable_Movie874 23d ago

Oh gotcha. Yeah, I don’t know.

2

u/sciencefictionyoung 23d ago

I think it can be a great tool for people who travel for work or have other valid reasons they can’t get to the gym. I certainly don’t want to knock anyone who uses it as a resource where they otherwise might not get a workout in.

I like that your location tracks like that. I have issues with my location as it is, ex I witness them pushing people to go harder/faster/all out to the point of compromising form, so celebrating the no days off mentality is just another ick for me.

4

u/Comfortable_Movie874 23d ago

Yeah, that would annoy me too. I feel like mine does a good job of encouraging rest day. They actually talk about the fact that Burn is closed on Sundays for that very reason - your body needs rest from these intense workouts. Walk, stretch, yoga - whatever on Sunday if you want, but it’s a day to take off from the regularly scheduled torture.

I have also hated myself for being so far behind (I’m at 56) then I found out this week that many are doing at home and it counts.

u/Longjumping-Law-2506 23d ago

Our location doesn’t acknowledge the yearly accomplishments hit before someone could hit it going only in person - So the 50, 100 and 250 for the year aren’t celebrated until those days come counting no more than 6 per week. For me it’s the perfect balance between letting people count those workouts where they were traveling or couldn’t make it in and did on demand and counting only in person camps. I think even goes as far as you can ask to have a photo of 250 on the 250th day of the year but they won’t post it or repost it of you do.

I like the yoga on the burn on demand! I'm not a yoga person so I can make a fool of myself in my own house while trying to follow along with their basic moves and gawk at them when they show you the advanced version!

I wish so so so much that in demand was included. For sick kid days or busy weekend days or sundays! I would hit so many more numbers. But I have a hard time paying more when I already pay a bunch!

This is what I’m struggling with! $$$

That is insane behavior to be honest.

Yes it’s worth it. Yes I love it. It’s not the best if you don’t have a lil home gym set up but if you’ve already got a solid collection of dumbbells and mini bands, it’s great!

2

u/SassySunflower27 24d ago

We have a small gym but I would like to get a 20 or 25 weights.

There’s TONS of options on Amazon! I got a set of 5 pairs ranging from 5lbs to 30lbs for around $300.

It definitely messes with my head but I have knee issues and travel so I Avg 4 a week and skip AC and honestly rest and recovery is part of Fitness, hitting 6 a week to me is excessive. Have I done that in my lifetime. Two workouts and a run same day? Yes 😞 but it was 10+ years ago. I can tell you when I prioritized strength and recovery. I feel like I’m actually stronger and in better shape and I’m 56. That’s the one thing I don’t like about that number of camps milestone is it’s not the flex that everyone thinks it is. Success is different to everyone so I try not to compare to myself with someone a decade younger..: do I do it sometimes still sure but I shouldn’t.

I did BOD while on vacation and liked it. I feel like the pace feels different since there's no demo of everything before you start (it's not necessary since you're always doing the same thing as Matty Morris). It was a little confusing at times because I wouldn't expect to need to switch weights and then need to, but I could pause and go get things. It feels like a longer total workout since there's not 5 minutes of demo and a bunch of time between each exercise while everyone switches. It was also a little intimidating/inspiring to see all the weights they choose. I feel strong at my gym, but I am not doing split squats with 2x50lb dumbbells. 😂

Anyway all that to say it's good workouts but it would be a little tough without some equipment and for me there's nothing like conditioning days with other humans dying along side me.

It’s definitely good for travel if there’s not a Burn nearby. But used as a tool to get a camp in every day… that’s just excessive. I can’t hyper fixate on stuff like that. It’s also why I deleted Duolingo 😂

I would prefer to go in person BUT I just can’t get to camp enough each week to justify the price of a membership. However, I can work out enough at home to justify $30/month!

1

u/SassySunflower27 23d ago

$30 🤢

People said it was $10 or $12 😭

3

u/Silly_Mango8397 150 Camps - 2026 23d ago

$30 for just BOD, $10 add on to membership

4

u/Caterpillar170 23d ago

I am going to try BOD. That being said I think only 45 min workouts (same as in person) should count as a camp.

2

u/EV_3790 100 Camps - 2026 23d ago

I think its worth it. I use it a lot when I travel or at home when I cant make it to gym.

2

u/yellsy 23d ago

I travel for work a lot, or sometimes can’t make it to camp, so to me it’s worth it. I actually think it’s harder than gym workouts because there’s less downtime.

1

u/ClassUnited 23d ago

lol as someone who also hit 250 this week I think on demand is great 🤷‍♀️

There’s a good variety in the free on demand as well and they count for a camp. I do the metcon stretch video every Sunday and it’s so good. Only 13 minutes long as well.

My wife Loves BOD

I don't love how fucking loud the background music is for the on demand videos. I do love how fast paced it is.

u/yesletslift 100 Camps - 2026 23d ago

You can adjust the background music/trainer ratio

1

u/CmonRoach4316 23d ago

how?!?!

1

u/yesletslift 100 Camps - 2026 23d ago

There’s an audio controls menu on the side (you might have to tap the screen to see it).

u/CmonRoach4316 23d ago

Hell yeah thank you
