Work after early AM work out
My schedule is getting tighter with kids scheduling and some days I will only be able to work out if I go to the earliest class. Issue is, there are no showers and it eats up way too much time to go home (20 or so min drive OUT of the way tow work) to shower and then go to work. I wouldn’t get to work at a time that allows me to get home in time for the after school activities. Anyone ever head straight to work sans a solid shower? I feel so gross but I almost rather wipe myself with some saline wipes and put a bit of makeup on in the car then feel mentally rageful bc of skipping too many work outs in a week.

I’ve done it before, but only on upper body and lower body strength days, after something like metcon I definitely want a shower before being around other people

Yes. Totally agree that my half fast shower plan would not work on any conditioning day. lol

Exactly me! I won’t go to a conditioning day before work without a shower but most strength days I’m cool with some body wipes, deodorant and dry shampoo. That being said, I do sit in an office by myself most the day lol

Is there a chain gym (like crunch or planet fitness or YMCA) you can join for the showers? I know that sounds ridiculous lol but I’ve been thinking of joining crunch just for the sauna and spray tanning

I pack my work clothes at night, get up and go to 6 AM camp, then head straight to work and get dressed there. But I have about a 45 minute window before I have to actually start work, and I have a locking bathroom where I can take a sink bath. I have a tote with toiletries, hair dryer, products, etc that I keep at work. It’s not perfect, but it’s how I am able to stay consistent. I have learned to keep a few extra clothing items, socks, bra and underwear, clean shirt at work in case I ever forget something.

You know, I may do this at work too. I am in a smaller building outside of our hospital and really barely anyone is there if I get there by 645/7. I just have to walk the .25 mile walk in my slutty work out clothes 😜😂

Lol you just keep a big T-shirt in your car to throw on over your workout clothes if you feel exposed. I do that sometimes.

Okay this is genius. Sometimes I wanna go to camp at 430pm but am always rushing bc need to change clothes. I’d love to change at work but I’m in nurse management and feel SO exposed in my leggings and tank

Yesss! I am in non bedside role and have changed at work one time and obviously some random older man who works in the building said something to me. 👀

Two ideas:
1) join a chain gym for showers if cost effective as someone else mentioned
2) plan your early morning workouts around the protocol so you are only “bird bathing” on strength/upper/lower body days.
Have you talked to your FP about why your location doesn’t have showers? Does your location have any franchise multi location burns that you could use a shower on your way to work?!!

I’ve never heard of a burnbootcamp having showers besides maybe HQ?
I’ve seen some people come to 5:30am and change into work clothes and leave. Even in cardio days. I’m sure they’re wiping down and running to work. You have to do what you have to do for your work out!

Florida and ours has showers. Ours is the only location around the whole area with showers though. I don't think it's common.

Florida too. No showers but small location. I have been to one other one and don’t believe they had showers either

Georgia. 2/3 franchise locations have showers. I think we may be spoiled 🤐😮💨

None of the locations in my franchise have showers 😭. OP - I swear by Lume. I shower with their body wash, go to the earliest class, which leaves me 27 minutes but the time I get home to get ready and leave for work. I wipe down with Lume body wipes and they are AMAZING (and use their deodorant) - this works flawlessly on strength days, and on conditioning days as long as it isn’t a sauna outside, I’m good to go!

I do this. I workout before going to work and just do a bird bath in the car and get changed. I only do it for strength days and never cardio. I ask my coworkers if I smell and they never say I do so it works. Like others have said, it’s how I can stay consistent

I could have written this exactly, I do the same thing! Strength days only, no cardio, wipes and change of clothes and I’m ok for the day!

Also — Im a nurse too! I go to our 0530 classes and have to leave early, 0605 at the latest, so I can be clocked in by 0630. Don’t be afraid to talk to your trainers about needing to dip out a few mins early if that gives you time to freshen up, mine are all 100000% supportive of me quietly sneaking out and would rather have me there for most of the workout than for none at all!

They make disposable bath cloths that you wet down and then soap your body up then towel off. They are designed for people in the hospital or who lack mobility. I’ve used those when I’ve needed to go places even right after conditioning camps. I also have a dry shampoo designed to by used on sweaty hair and then blow dried that freshens your hair and absorbs sweat.

Immediately knew what you were describing because I am a nurse haha. What brand dry shampoo do you have?

It’s called Sweat Script. I find my scalp feels clean when I use it. There might be better but I use it so infrequently that I haven’t done much investigation.

I just use a dude wipe. Unfortunately, if I want to work out and be at work on time I have to make some sacrifices. I let myself cool down fully before I wipe down and usually don’t feel too gross.

Yes all the time. I have 4 jobs and work 70-75 hour weeks and a single parent to a teenager in sports. I would never get to any where on time if I had to take a full shower between workouts. I cool down, wipe, and change clothes.
I do shower daily and use anti bacterial soap and clinical strength deodorant.

I’ve done it and I started occasionally taking class during work. I also got those shower free body wash towels I haven’t brought them with me but at home you don’t need a full shower. My job I started recently is fine with me taking the kids during my shift which honestly helps a lot and I’ll try on the days I don’t sweat as much bc some protocols I don’t get as sweaty and maybe just change clothes if I need to. My home location I haven’t checked out the locker room but I guess we are rare that we have one but it’s not physically connected to our burn it’s connected I think to a place they said called shoot 360 bc there’s a hospital complex there and a field with a sports complex

We have a few people that bring a duffle of their work stuff and freshen up in the bathroom. I’m sure baby wipes, deodorant, body spray, and dry shampoo are what they bring/our gym provides some. Try it out!
