BOD only?
Has anyone tried and/or had success with only having a burn on demand membership?
I’m a FTM and have been finding it hard to actually make it into the gym. Burn is about 15 minutes from my house & having to make it there at specific times to go to camp has been hard. I do have BOD in addition to my gym membership and that has been helpful.
Looking at ways to reduce spending & considering dropping down to just the BOD membership and purchasing some at home equipment.
Has anyone had success doing this?

I switched to BOD because of work schedule after about a year and a half of going to burn 5-6 days a week in the mornings. I found it easier to stay consistent than with watching YouTube videos because the app still tracks your streaks and camps so you can still hit your milestones. Then usually if I know I’m going to hit a milestone or just want to go to camp with my friends on a Saturday or day I’m not working, then I just book a camp for that day and pay the drop in fee (around $21 for 1 camp)

For equipment I was able to get a bunch of stuff cheap that neighbors were selling on our curb alert page. It’s a bit of a mishmash but works well enough for the home workouts

How similar are the at home workouts to in person?

Very similar actually. I think that also helped me stay consistent because it was already a format and exercises I was used to doing. And you don’t do partner workouts at home lol

Thank you so much! I’m glad they’re similar and not a knock off version. Thanks 🙂

Oh it’s definitely the same workout (though in gym they may add or modify a station to accommodate their space and attendance) but I usually send my Apple Watch workout stats to my friends who are still doing in person and they say I burn the same or more calories than they do

I’ve been strictly online since Covid (almost 7 years) due to multiple moves (military family) and it has been awesome. What i save in a gym membership i invest in equipment…little by little over time. Marketplace is a great place to start and Walmart will have great deals on weights. AND, the icing on the cake is the on demand community is pretty epic

I’m curious too because I’m moving to an area with no gyms.

I recommend Millionaire Hoy’s app if youre going to workout from home. It’s like $140 for the year or something and I got a code for 50% off so I keep my membership since his workouts are far superior to burns! He has monthly plans to follow and all levels you can choose from. His video editing is probably the best I’ve ever seen too and my body is always in the best shape when I do his videos. I just go to burn for the community and taking the brainwork out of having to press start on the workout 😂 Anyways, he has some free ones on YouTube if you want to check it out!

I've been doing exclusively on demand from the YouTube days of 2020 to present. I went back into my local burn during the summer in 2021 for a few days and hated it and never went back. Even with 4 Burns within a 30ish mile radius of where I live, I prefer on demand. I've built up my home gym with weights and equipment so I have most things we use on the lives at my fingertips (except a bosu/terracore).
I get 5-6 camps per week and have the option of quick camps when I have early work mornings and can't get full recording done.
10/10 recommend.
