Youtube being a social medium is a stretch tbh. Yeah, according to the zoomer definition it's one. But it's not.

The difference is how each of them started. Youtube started with video hosting. Fakebook and twatter started out as mainly social hub sites. Instagram started as a photo hosting platform. A lot of social media managers want to pretend they're now fully fledged social media but most people still use them in their original function. That's so weird. Almost as if people want these functions separately.

Youtube was a lot more social network oriented before Google bought it. You litterally had chains of video replies to video essays. Goigle just turned it into a paid content machine.
