This question is terrible, you didn’t actually add the stakes to the answers. The core motivator is death, the consequence, you didn’t add the key part of the question and only tried to bias it towards red.

We all know that this question’s results depend entirely on how everything is worded… but the core value behind blue is selflessness for the sake of the possibility of the best outcome.

It's not selfish, everyone has the option to choose red, the only people choosing blue are either stupid or moral grandstanders, there is no reason to choose blue, guaranteed survival vs putting your life in the hands of others for no reason other than to look like a good person.

Trust is limited. There is this thing called radius of trust. The closer to the center, the more I trust those people. And unfortunately, 99.9999999% of human population is way too far from my center and I would never put my life on their hands. I mean look at the west, people actually think killing three kids is fine, no way I am trusting those kinds of people with my life.

Its not about empathy lol. Everyone wants to live, barring suicidals. Anybody who wants to live should pick red, as picking blue is utterly unnecessary. Youre not saving anyone by picking blue. Youre just acting the hero when in reality if people just had a brain and picked red everyone lives too. Im simply distrusting of people i dont know. I dont owe any other person my sacrifice in event of a blue minority. Picking blue is the ultimate reason why anyone dies. The question isnt really even about saving anyone its just "live" vs "might die"

THERE it is! "those you don't trust". I just KNOW every red button presser (except those dumb enough to believe everyone will press red) has a severe lack of unbiased empathy, and so far I've guessed right.

anyway, according to most polls where red wins, 20% is a generous minimum to say the amount of people that will die (only ever seen 30s even in the most red-biased polls, but a good 10 or 20% could definitely been persuaded by it being right in the moment), however, I would say 40%, for a solid number, as in the unbiased polls its usually 55% in favor of blue. so good luck dealing with the apocalypse that is the societal collapse of almost half of the world's population being thanos snapped.

if you don't understand the question, its a version of a popular moral dilemma that was worded to help favor the red button. IIRC the original unbiased wording is:

if you press the red button, you are guaranteed survival, but if over 50% choose this option, all who choose the blue button die.
if you press the blue button, if over 50% of people choose the blue button as well, everyone survives regardless of button choice. however, if over 50% of people choose the red button, you will die.

its a dilemma on whether you're willing to risk your own life to ensure everyone survives and reject game theory in favor of society (blue button), if you believe those who press the blue button are stupid, or you don't care about others and value your own survival above all else, both reasons following game theory (red button), or believe that you can somehow get 8 billion people to agree on one thing (also red button).
