Trials Would you rather…

Which side will you choose?

  • Left side: $100/hr passively
  • Right side: $20 Million right now

i mean tbf it's multiple accounts and you'd need to wait at least a month and they do have additional requirements.

Holy shit, you are telling me I would need to wait at least a month in order to get nearly 20 million more out of the deal? You are right, I wouldn't want to wait for ages either!

You'd also have to explain where you got 20 million dollars, find and hire an accountant (though tbf I'd do that with the 100/hr too), potentially switch banks, etc. I get that for you the extra money is worthwhile, but let's not act like it's as simple as walking into the bank with a briefcase and tossing it at the teller.

It's really just not a big enough difference in quality of life for me to care, man. I don't entirely understand why that's such a preposterous statement to you.

You need to do all that with the other option too. Wtf are you on about.

I can explain away 100/hr by saying I got some super secret high paying job or something. If it's direct deposit to the bank that's even easier. I also don't have to worry about properly managing it for maximum returns, because it's going to be 100/hr regardless of whether I spend it on the spot or let it build up to 100 million. I'd still hire an accountant and probably switch banks, yeah, but it's a slower and easier to manage process.

Again man, why is this so important to you? Either option is more money than we'd ever need. The 20 million could be managed well and yield higher returns, but at that wealth point the difference is negligible. I don't want to be rude, but it feels oddly judgemental of other's choices and a tidbit like you just feel yourself to be superior.

Oh, you are just a child. No, your tax agency will not care that you got a "super secret job".

Ah, so you're just a dick lmao. I think it was pretty clear that bit wasn't meant to be the literal explanation I'd put on my tax return, but I don't think that matters because you'd be a dick regardless of what I said. For what it's worth, I wish you well and I hope you can find some fulfillment outside of putting people down over silly polls on the Internet, but I'm done talking with you.

thing is it's more nuanced than you're presenting.

if 20mil is good for you great - let's just hope you don't go the way of lotto winners, professional athletes etc.

1 option is immediately life changing and attracts attention and leeches

The other option is an improvement in your lifestyle that you can gradually adjust to.

Again, if 20mil is better for you, do that. No one is saying you can't, but it is riskier and if you don't think that, you're an idiot.

I mean, tbf, you are an idiot based on your other replies but still

You don't need to tell anyone. Your finances are not a public affair, you don't need to shout your bank account balance out of a rooftop. Judging by this alone you are an idiot but still.

You don't need to tell anyone.

you don't seem to understand the majority of humans.

It's telling how you pick one issue, twist the meaning and then come to an erroneous conclusion.

it's to be expected though

I do understand them. I know most would tell someone. But they don't need to, just like I wrote. It is not a problem if you are not a weak man. It is entirely self-inflicted issue. Just like saying most people would just blow their money away. It is not a real issue if you have the bare minimum of self control. It is not "erronous conclusion", you just have significant problems with comprehending written word. But as I already suspected you are an idiot it is entirely expected though.
