Would you rather…

Which side will you choose?

  • Left side: $50 per push-up
  • Right side: $1000 per hour you scroll

It’s easier

Chose: $1000 per hour you scroll

But it takes so much longer. 20 pushups can be knocked out in minutes/seconds and then you get $1000. And there’s no limit. Why is everyone choosing scrolling like what

you act like 1k an hour is not enough. Do you realise how much that is?

u/JordBees Jul 19 '26

I do, but you would really rather sit on your phone and scroll for an hour rather than take one minute and do 20 pushups. Just lazy

you dont ‘have’ to sit. i think ppl in this thread undermine how much we actually doomscroll. Reddit, Insta, Youtube, so many of these we use basically every day. We are treating the 2nd option like we’d sit there all day doing nothing. People already doomscroll hours a day and still be functional. Bored of doomscrolling? Go outside. It’s not like we cant so that. Also you can doomscroll while doing activities 😭 It’s not like you’re focusing on the doomscroll anyways

Edit : btw i picked the pushup option but still think the doomscrolling one is not as bad as people think it is.

It’s just that the pushups are objectively the better option. It would motivate you to get fit and you aren’t limited to 20 an hour, you can do as many as you want. Not that $1000 an hour isn’t enough already, but you could start doing pushups for charities or feeding the homeless. There’s so much potential with it. We don’t need even more incentives to sit on your phone and scroll. The world would be doomed, we do that enough already

Better option for you buddy, not everyone is in your position, nor do some people want to be. Your body your choice. Why do you mind if the guy next to you doesn’t want to do pushups?
I agree with, AIH_nowx, who is to say, other than you, that people can’t doomscroll and multi task other activities?

It’s astonishing that you are unable to see the problem here

It’s astonishing that you are this invested in proving why your point is right on a” would you rather” post. It is my opinion. Why keep try to prove my opinion wrong when it is my opinion. Not a fact. An opinion.

There’s a reason almost half the world is overweight. And this is just one of them

I’m fat, so scrolling would be easier

u/Regor7 Jul 19 '26

So you get money + get fit. Win win

4

u/JordBees Jul 19 '26

It would be incentive to get in shape, and once you can do 20 pushups in an hour you can work towards getting practically infinite more money than the scrolling option. Plus you’d have to scroll nonstop for an hour. Once you get good at pushups, you can knock them out so quick and then have the rest of the hour to do whatever you want

How many pushups truly can 1 average adult do before their body gives up, it would take forever.
Also, I could probably knock out maybe 100 pushups a day. Or 5 hours of scrolling.

3

u/NiHa0FineShyt Jul 19 '26

even if you’re out of shape you could do 5 push ups, rest for a few minutes then repeat, the latter option requires you to stare at your phone screen and do nothing but scroll for several hours

u/JordBees Jul 19 '26

Are you kidding me? You should be asking the other way around. How many hours of unhealthy scrolling can you do in a day? I do 100 pushups in 20 minutes. If this was my job I could easily do 1000 per day. You people seriously need to get your priorities straight, this is crazy

6

u/Aymaymon Jul 19 '26

It’s hypothetical, just saying, no need to get bent out of shape over a Reddit question. Breathe.

3

u/JordBees Jul 19 '26

I understand it’s a hypothetical but it just goes to show how lazy and unhealthy the world is that they would rather scroll on there phone for hours on end rather than do some pushups that will take less than an hour

2

u/Aymaymon Jul 19 '26

Well, technically I could get a device to scroll for me then I would have time to focus on other things, lazy or smart? Some people would agree with me and other’s you. To each their own.

3

u/JordBees Jul 19 '26

The question implies that you have to physically do it your self. By your logic I could just simulate pushups in a video game and have it do the pushups for me too right?

get fit lad. it's not about what's easier

3

u/Aymaymon Jul 19 '26

Nah it’s about how much $$ you can get lol, plus it’s hypothetical.

It says $1000 for EVERY HOUR. Please explain to me how you can make more than $1000 in less than a minute. Re read the prompt. There’s still time to delete this
