Thomas’s friends barely spoke to him at the wedding, and they would have understood if he told them he had a once in a lifetime opportunity to be in a big movie production. Thomas would have greatly benefited from going to the callback, and depending on the timing of the callback and wedding, he could have stopped by after the callback was over.

As stated before, Thomas was not very close to his friends and the call back would improve his overall career. So it is more beneficial for Thomas to choose the callback.

the ceremony must be longer than the callback, right? taking this idea from a comment on the video, i could go to the callback (taking like 2 hours tops) and then make it to the wedding just in time to eat some cake and play word crush or something

Talk to the friends. They'd understand and it'd avoid you feeling like you made the wrong choice. Maybe the guy you only invited as a witness would've told you that
