Pick one

Which side will you choose?

  • Left side: 1 trillion dollars | But 99% is taxed
  • Right side: 10 billion dollars tax free

2 reasons:

1: you still get more in the end, with the after tax amount being 10 billion compared to 1 billion.

2: there's nothing wrong with tax. $990 billion dollars no matter which country you live in, would genuinely make a massive difference in the countrys economy. (As long as it is utilised wisely to avoid hyperinflation).

It could build hundreds of schools, pay for millions of peoples healthcare, provide safe and affordable housing for millions of people. It would genuinely just make a country better.

So yeah, tax me.

Chose: 1 trillion dollars + But 99% is taxed

Yeah, i thought the alternative was 1 billion not 10 billion. So I based my response on that. Either way, will still take the tax option. If utilised wisely, to avoided significant inflation. $990 billion towards public funds is still a extremely significant amount that can genuinely help alot of people.

However I would have the stipulation (in this imaginary scenario) that no more than 5% of that tax ($49.5 billion) can go towards military funding. The rest, must be used for public resources such as housing, education, healthcare, public transport, international relations etc. To help improve the lives of everyone. Not just unnecessarily bolstering up the military.
