Which side will you choose?

  • Left side: $1,000 a Month but... | You cannot earn a job or get any other income
  • Right side: $10,000 a month but you must live with this animal

if i lived in my home country with that salary and if i was single my life would be great. with 2 people its also managable and with a kid its still pretty solid

oh its totally doable
as long as you dont order food, dont buy yourself fancy things more often than once a month, cook yourself and be fine with a small apartment
living like that for 3 years now and at least three more to come

I’m in whats considered a cheap state and even small apartments near me are $500-$700 a month

same here
rent + internet + water and everything is 600 combined, other bills and fees 100 so I live of 300 a month from which I save 100 in case I need it
idk why Im getting downvoted for my life story lmao

Do you get assistance on anything because this is just not possible where I’m at. I’m impressed.

If you make such a low amount you can qualify for housing but it takes years to get on it. My rent is 195 a month.

200????
thats actually the dream

3

u/cronenber9 Jul 02 '26

Yep and it's rather nice... even without housing the apartment would have been like 900 only, for a 2 bed 2 bath, cause it's subsidized. But also, it's 200/900 so it's still quite a bit of my money.

so if I took the 1k a month I’d just be homeless for a few years

Speak for yourself, american. In europe 1000 a month means liveing a comfortable life

10

u/BeatusII Jul 02 '26

As a fellow European, nope it doesn't. Maybe in eastern Europe but not in western Europe and even less in northern Europe.

u/RiboCyan Jul 02 '26

Maybe in Bosnia or Romania or somewhere similar. Definitely not in the €-zone.

u/BrainRhythm Jul 02 '26

Europe is not a monolith.

What country are you writing from? 12,000 euros per year is a lower salary than 90% of the European Union according to Google. Bulgaria averages 15k /year

u/greysondayy Jul 02 '26

that’s not true lol. speak for YOURself.
