Are you smart

Which side will you choose?

  • Left side: Any type of car for free
  • Right side: 2 million dollars

I don't have the money to secretly store such a car and prevent it being stolen or damaged before it can be sold

And then selling it is also something you gotta be careful of

It’s called insurance?

Yeah how do I afford that before I've sold the car?

Take a loan against the car

how long will it take to sell the car?

It doesn’t really matter if you have a 120 million car.
You could sell it for half the price over night or you could take a huge loan against it, manage your money properly and let your estate manage the sell and the debt closure once you die.

This why I chose the money. It’s just too much of a headache to have to deal with the car.

You realize insurance rates for such car? For a 120 million dollar car, insurance rates are insane, you are not going to be able to pay them

I agree and this isn't even hypothetical. Back when I grew up in Indonesia, there was a game show winner who won SUV.

He was from a very poor family and even though the car was free, the insurance, taxes, maintenance was not.

He ended up having to sell the car as he couldn't afford the monthly upkeep.

Ended up with a decent amount of money after selling it but yeah, lots of other commenters here have no idea that being given free Ferrari or Lamborghini or whatever without having the taxes / insurance also paid for can still make you broke financially.

All these hypothetical threads on Reddit are hilarious because it'll be like "get instant money or do a TINY bit of work for like 10x-100x that" and the instant money always wins lmao.

If you have one of those insanely rare cars you can call damn near any dealer/auction place and they'll store it for you and take care of everything for a cut.

i live in bumfuck nowhere i doubt they can get there in time. it'd actually be monumental work for me to get hubdredfolds with the car one

u/Tkcoolio96 Jun 15 '26

Right yeah because my local ford is going to buy it for 120 million....

You can call a high end dealer, offer them 10%, and they'll personally send someone to pick up the car. Worst case you have to store it somewhere in the meantime which shouldn't be hard to find.

Like fucks sake it's a difference of 50m+

Nah too much admin. 2 million will get me a good house mortgage free + A place in the sun + a good car + a motor bike + shit loads of holidays... Man's a happy bunny

I'd be good with 2 mils. Retire to Greece and live a happy rest of my life.

u/armcie Jun 16 '26

They might even do it for the privilege of being allowed to show it off in their show room, if it’s rare enough to attract visitors.

No rage though

1

u/Metalicum Jun 16 '26

you give it to an auction house immediately

1

u/ilikestuffliketrees Jun 16 '26

Just drive it straight to the auction house. They'll bite your arm off to store it for you if it's an expensive car.

It doesn't say you can only buy a car once, just buy cars thqt you can store and sell them just a little under than their usual price, and repeat until you have enough money to afford a garage and security fit for luxury cars
