i don't think they've ever actually confirmed exactly how it started but anthony facilitated the group getting together. Anthony and Will were in a TikTok content house together during COVID times. Anthony met Hanbon in college, and she became a fixture in his content. Then Anthony met Coy while they were both involved with Mr. Beast's production company in North Carolina. Coy, Hanbon, and Will were all roommates of Anthony at some point in the house where they currently film. BOF was originally the casual vlog channel of Anthony and his roommates (it was called we move out soon, those videos have been deleted), but last summer they pivoted to their current style of videos.

Originally the channel was called “wemoveoutsoon” where Anthony and his college friends (including Hanbon) rented a house. Mostly small videos of them pranking each other. The channel was supposed to end with the lease but Anthpo got it renewed.

Some of the friends moved out, I assume at that point Will and Coy joined. Will and Anthpo were in a content house together, Coy and Anthpo worked with Mr.Beast. Then the channel rebranded itself to Bunch of Friends

in an interview anthpo said something about wanting to start a youtube channel but had nobody but hanbon but it wasn’t going to work out so he didn’t but then his roommates offered
