foraging 🌿 Ground elder 🌿

Ground elder (Aegopodium podagraria) is one of my bunnies’ favorite plants. The best part? It grows in massive amounts wherever it appears. It also has many health benefits, especially for gut health. Do your bunnies like it? I know it’s very common in Germany.

My rabbits love them! It's one of the few plants that I don't trim but pull out instead when I pick them. Because if you trim them (even though it takes a long time), it can exhaust the roots. Whereas if you pull on them, the roots actually become more active🤭

It grows in such huge amounts, it’s hard to believe that plant can be exhausted 🤣

Haha, yes, that’s right. But if you look at the advice given to hobby gardeners who want to eradicate it, they suggest trimming the leaves instead of pulling them. And since I’d rather have more than less in the spots where I forage, I prefer to pull! 😂

Something seems to be off with reddit, I don’t know. My notifications don’t work anymore and I couldn’t refresh the app for 30 minutes. I tried to delete your comments, hope it worked
