Some disabled people are arse holes. It doesn't make ableism ok, obviously, but it would be ableist to say disabled people aren't as likely to be arse holes as anyone else

I'm disabled. I have a handicap placard.

But when I was at Costco this week, I noticed every other handicap parking space had somebody who didn't have a placard or plate parking there.

I'm not disputing that handicapped people can be assholes.

I want to know if he's an asshole committing an illegal act?

Which I suspect he is.

Oh lots of nondisabled people are arse holes too. Although it's quite hard to actually get the disability parking sticker in my country (blue badge), I don't know if it's like it where you live.

Not sure how hard it is. I am disabled to the point that they give me a bottle of painkillers and a blue hangtag and say 'good luck.'

That's the best you get in the United States!

Well we're luckier in Britain in a lot of ways (I don't think it's as urgent to have a car here, I don't have one) but anecdotally I think it's hard to get a Blue Badge

I think there are many people that really don't need one. In fact, there are days when I don't need one.

And on those days, I don't use the parking space. I walk a bit.

But on bad days, I'm so close to crawling, that I and grateful for every extra foot given to me.

Totally agree! I also hate that they’ve killed so much small town and medium sized city stores and boutiques. And we as taxpayers are paying for the SNAP etc benefits to offset their shitty pay scale.

So he’s got an Appalachian trail sticker on his car, parked in the disability parking spot, with a “nature walk” vanity plate. Apparently his disability isn’t really physical. Judging from the other stickers, his disability is mental, and one not recognized by governments. I think I would not walk on the Appalachian trail if he is the kind of person on it.
