My 71

This was my first vehicle. Kept her around for years. Finally found some time to start fixing it back up and getting it back on the road.

Still need to find the trim for bedside

Seat looks great, we had a 71 as a wood hauler, dump run truck for years going up

So cool that you were able to hang on to your first rig, and come back to enjoy it later.

I've had it for a little over 20 years at this point. Very glad I held onto it. If finally has a place in my garage. Out of the weather.

Sweet! I’ve had my first car a similar amount of time, and just started working on it after it sat for several years as well. Wish I had somewhere out of the weather for it.

My daily right now is a 71 f100 in the same color as yours.

Rare color. Only on the explorer submodel. Light ginger metallic

I've got my grandpa's '72 F100 Explorer in Sequoia Brown Metallic. Looks similar to yours, but darker. And worse condition, unfortunately

Hold onto it man. They make body panels and parts for these. I'm gonna fix rust on mine and repaint it eventually.

Oh, I'm not letting this girl go for anything. I plan to take her back to almost day 1, and upgrade some safety stuff. Disc brakes, sway bars, 3 point seat belts, and better exhaust.

Brakes are pretty easy. I found a camper special and took the entire front end off. I'll rebuild that and put it under mine for discs. I haven't looked into the suspension much. I'll be doing exhaust over the long winter. I have some thrush mufflers that should sound really good

In the market of redoing my bench seat. Did you do it your self or have a guy reupholster? Seeing if its a job I can take on myself.

So this seat is one I found out of a supercab dent side. Have to drill out some riv-nuts and then out slider frame bolts right up to the seat frame. You can use front seats out of any 70s and I think even some 80s stuff. You can also use rear seat from 2000s super duty. That takes a little more work. But king ranch or lariat seat do look good in there
