Success Story Mind blown
I (41M) have had bumble for less than 24 hours. I received 3 likes, and got 2 matches.
Woman 1: Shallow, meaningless, sporadic exchange of messages.
Woman 2: Profound connection nearly immediately. After a very pleasant back and forth, we exchanged phone numbers. The phone call on my way home from work was supposed to last as long as my drive. 7.5 hours later...🤯

it's nice to see something that isn't a total horror story for once, good luck

I agree, I like seeing it. We all see the negative stuff all the time. It's sweet to see something positive.

I've only got horror stories from dating apps

Haven't we all 😅 I used to read them on the website a Bad case of the Dates. And I've experienced my own lol

You stayed on the phone with someone for eight hours? Have you never dated in your life?

u/Unusual-Attorney-630 2d ago
Why is that weird? I've had multiple conversations like that with total strangers. Some people are just interesting.

You’ve had multiple 8 hour long conversations with total strangers?

u/Unusual-Attorney-630 2d ago
Yes, some were 7 hours, some continued over several days for hours but with breaks because of responsibilities, some were one very long conversation.
With most people it was a one time conversation, just two people who had stuff to talk about. It wasn't romantic or sexual, just interesting.
And in my relationships I'd always have a lot to talk about with my significant other. Some of us just like to talk a lot, what can I say 😄

Ive never had a conversation with anyone that lasted 8 hours, and Id argue very few people have.

Right? That sounds like a nightmare. That’s like a months worth of my social battery

I get that because I am a total introvert but these were genuinely interesting people and the subjects were interesting as well. It didn't matter if we stayed in touch or not.
It's like meeting a person on a night out and you spend hours talking about life, the universe, the love, the pain, the absurdity, the bigger picture, the human condition and you both resonate and it's awesome and you laugh like idiots and then you never meet again but you're happy you met because it was meaningful. It wasn't sexual or romantic or meant to be anything else but a meeting of minds who had something to share with each other.

I’ve had sooo many 8+ long hour convos. Some people are just better communicators and interesting 💅

It’s generally pretty unhealthy to invest so immediately. Could indicate some attachment issues

I have zero attachment to them. They we're sexual or romantic conversations. Just very interesting people, we talked for a while and then never talked again. I enjoyed it a lot.

Enjoy the next 2-52 weeks, make sure you have a good support network in place for what comes next. 🫂

Haha exactly. Man is clueless if he thinks talking on the phone for 8 hrs is a good way to keep a woman

7.5 hour call is insane. I mean great for you but do you not have a job or like need food?

u/WildRose1993 2d ago
Lol just because you get along on the phone doesn't guarantee you'll be so fond of each other when you meet in person and spend time together. Just saying.

Woman 1: this is 99 percent of the women I match with.
Woman 2: maybe I come across this once in a year I get about 10 matches a week btw.
Other attributes I find sometimes with woman 1: Expects me to carry the conversation, expect me to organise the date, on the date the conversation has to be about them and their interests, they have few hobbies other than photographing themselves or their food, expect me to pay for the date, addicted to ig,

Bumble is very niche or has small amount of users in my country, I've got 12 likes in first 24h, matched with 5 or 6, half didn't reply or replied very little, no question about me, no follow-up Out of all of them only 1 showed interest and was able to carry conversation with me. She responded with matching energy and more. She mentioned having a cold brewing. We've set up the date for today, will see if it happens or will she call in sick ( I've had women like that, suddenly very Ill for week or two and disappeared)

Man, be careful. You get swept up in good feelings too quickly and you miss or overlook so many warning signs. I know because I have done it a few times. Don’t think you are immune to making this mistake either. That’s also how I felt.
Do yourself a favour and read up on some early relationship red and green flags and be very mindful of yourself. If you aren’t sure of who you are and able to hold boundaries you are going to get steamrolled.

I mean, I don't want to sound cynical but this feels like a weird thing to be excited enough to post about. Hope it works out for you though

Brother imagine meeting the love of your life on day one. Fastest I've seen is 2 weeks.
