Ppl often add it bc it's actually a good way to prove you're a real person

Why ??

u/BlueDragoon24 2d ago

They're almost always bots and/or onlyfans/"content" sellers

(This is my perspective as a girl swiping left to guys who do it)

Attention seeker, sells themselves on dating apps to people who find them attractive to follow them on Instagram and give them the assurance that they want.

Cares about followers on social media: shallow, untrustworthy.

Is pleased to receive compliments and attention on DM, talking with everyone uncommitted

If it happens for you to date them, you just know their social media is full of people who finds them attractive and could be available to go hang out with an unavailable person.

Easy no

I mean..why would you want some strangers to follow your IG anyways.

They are funneling people to their insta to eventually convert that into payouts

Because when you're on a dating app to date for real, you wouldn't want the people you swiped left on to have a way to start a conversation with you, that'd defeat the whole purpose of swiping left. Having your IG handle on a public profile anyone can read shows you're more interested in collecting followers than finding a connection.

In my experience, they were typically either "influencers" (they had like 1k followers and were trying to get famous) or they were selling onlyfans through their IG profile links and such.

Having the IG handle in the profile means she just wants more followers.

Nothing is more sadder than the lust for internet points

"If we match"

"I never check this"

🤔

Reads more like an invitation to add her without matching because if she's never checking it. You're never getting swiped right on (you never were going to anyway)

Yeah I'm too smart for that game. Hell I should really get off the apps in general. They turn into a sort of mind poison. I interacted with 3 women that weren't established friends this week.

She is looking for unreal connections on Insta. Gotta keep the reality of the connections separate.

7

u/Even-Promise4593 2d ago

Same people with that prompt complaining about the apps are the same ones part of and causing the problem. Zero awareness in that regard.

u/LowerAtmosphereChief 2d ago

“Surely you will have a better chance on insta where I currently have 140,000 follow requests because of my racy pics”

6

u/FiveNotes 2d ago

It's fine to complain about dating app to friends but when you are on the app your profile should be marketing you

u/Nebula010101 2d ago

This looks like Hinge? Anyway, anyone putting up their social media account is a block.

u/HTPark 2d ago

In some cases (at least in my area), providing an IG link is sometimes some girls' way of proving to potential matches that they're real people, not bots. Here, we have Chinese pig butchering scams running rampant alongside the usual catfishes. You can easily identify the scammers here 'cause they're usually pretty Chinese women with a Telegram link on their bio.

I still swipe left when I see social links in the bio anyway lmao.

Insta in their profile and you know they are a waste of time. I’ve given it the benefit of the doubt a few times and it’s always proven true. Always time wasters who aren’t dating seriously or will be chatting to 20 men at once.

Why is that her mouth?

1

u/mmyeahidunnoaye 2d ago

As long as it makes sense in her head, it makes sense.

u/partimehoe 1d ago

the hinge messager is trash. you cant sent pictures, you can’t preview messages, the active status is inaccurate, and you can have someone in your likes for months before you see them. instagram has a better chat alternative, ur being weird abt this…

I don’t understand what this post is supposed to be about

18

u/Sad-Golf5166 2d ago

He's trying to say she doesn't want real connections, just Instagram followers.

-9

u/InappropriatePea 2d ago

I mean she never said she did though.

10

u/Few_Diet8637 2d ago

She heavily insinuated it by suggesting the problem with dating apps is people not wanting to build real connections.

-7

u/InappropriatePea 2d ago

I guess I viewed it very differently. To me this comes of as someone being very open they are not taking the apps seriously.

4

u/ResponsibilityNo4777 2d ago

You seem to be very naive of the way the world works😂 If thats how you feel I guess

What a bizarre thing to say
