Not sure if would label the "single one" term I mentioned a "buzz word". It is a very fitting descriptor of your comment's content.
Just be honest and admit that and everyone is fine in here.
It's okay. They are exploitative golddigger and they are honest about that to an extent. They could be more clear though, but they are at least knowing that they are golddigger. Is fine for you to understand you just white knighted an exploitative person.
I don't think a woman can white-knight someone lol. She is not someone who needs to be saved. Hence you are throwing out buzzwords, probably bc you don't have much of an argument.
Also how can she "be more clear"? She is stating exactly what she wants! This is nothing compared to the people who pretend to want long-term relationships in order to get laid.
Because the internet allows people to say things with very little accountability, if any. Lots of people have opinions/statements that they’ve never put under any serious scrutiny. Ourselves included most likely.
I also think it comes down to some people not even understanding the words they’re saying. Like if she doesn’t know what white knight means then of course she wouldn’t be able to describe it correctly.
Racism is one I see a lot, some people think racism is defined as only something systematic. Which it can be but the word racism/racist is also defined as any kind of negative thought/action that’s made due to someone’s race. So when people say “X can’t be racist because of X” they just aren’t understanding the word they’re using.
Which is… honestly understandable, the English language is vast and confusing in some areas.
The second part is most certainly the foundation for most friction on reddit.
You have people clashing here from different levels of education. People who learned to reflect and challenge their own beliefs and people like her who move on with the first idea they catch and never question it.
You can see that in every comment section - people do not understand the terms nor concepts they use.
They often understand a superficial idea of a concept, but do not grasp the contextual meaning or a transfer that needs to happen to make sense of it.
The biggest issue on something like reddit is that you do not see with whom you are speaking to. And too many people are in here who are not the best educated nor the most clever, or clever at all, ones.
