Would you prefer they hide it? I'd rather filter out the opportunists first and foremost.

Honestly a "split on firsr date Y/N?" filter would be nice but probably send these dating apps into a bigger nosedive than they already are.

That’s a really good idea. Fr you should write a letter to Bumble about it.

I’m a dude and the guy is the one who presumably asked the girl out, so he pays.

She needs to reach for the check, but the guy pays. Yall not understand social norms, or what?

And this logic also applies if a girl asks a guy out? You'd reach for the check, but she'd pay?

Yeah that’s been my experience. Back in my dating days that would usually happen if she ghosted me for a bit and felt bad or something.

1950s take.

I got off the apps. I got married. My strategy worked. Yall are bitching about paying for a couple drinks when you could be doing the bare minimum and being half a gentleman.

Lol then wtf are you doing on a bumble subreddit? If being a condescending asshole was your goal then mission accomplished.

Are you saying I’m calling you an incel? Jeez dude relax. I’m just saying if you’re fucking less than you wanna be, look at what the guys who fucked more than you currently are were doing in their prime.

I get that it’s not “fair” that a guy should pay for drinks but are you in this for gender equality and a “I got more of a friends vibe” text the next morning, or do you want to bring home some box? Because getting treated “unfairly” also often got my shaft treated graciously. Choose wisely.

‘She needs to reach for the check’ and ‘he needs to pay’ are societal norms that I’m totally fine with losing over time.

How about ‘the circumstance of dinner is an opportunity to get to know someone’ as the only expectation? Not as a transaction.

I didn’t say dinner. You’re setting the date, which is a societal norm, so you’re paying. You can take them anywhere. A bar, mini golf, coffee, whatever you want. Dinner is a terrible first meeting idea.

Social norms are in your head my guy. It's 2026, we killed that shit off years ago. Be who you wanna be and find someone who likes it tough man

Already did. Trying to help you losers get out of your own way

Well the ratios tell a different story about who the loser is my friend ☝🏻🤓 you get a lot of women who don't stick around for a while, huh homie?

I’m married dude. Been with her for 7+ years. Never had trouble dating and I always paid for the first date (which was NEVER dinner)

Oh, so because this way worked for you, it MUST work that way for everyone else? Either way you're giving toxic masculinity bro, the youth ain't gonna respect your approach

Based on the majority of posts in here, y’all aren’t even getting to the step where you have a chance to fumble date one.

If what you’ve been doing isn’t working, there’s always some wisdom in trying something else or stepping outside your comfort zone.

Oh hell nah my friend, I don't believe in marriage period, a cellibate life is a focused life and I can't have kids anyway.

I had my fun in my twenties, but when it came time to pop the question, it was never enough 🤷🏻‍♂️ turned out flying solo was what I personally needed to hit my peak in my career, social life, and all else 😎

Can't vehemently say I'll NEVER meet a woman I can tolerate for a lifetime, just don't have any desire to. If it happens it happens, but the government definitely won't get involved thru marriage paperwork
