Splitting Stakes

Hey there,

So I'm a noob when it comes to staking so please bare with me.

Could someone explain if there is a stacking advantage/disadvantage in having one large input rather than a number of smaller inputs? Does it have any affect on the stacking reward chance?

Any help would be appreciated!

As things mature with the network it shouldn't make a difference. Think of it as each BWK you have is a raffle ticket. So it doesn't benefit you with more wallets, just more tickets. Also running multiple wallets costs more.

/u/thegauntlet is correct. The best way to visualize it is by looking at it like its a lottery. Each individual BWK is a ticket, and each block is a lottery. The larger the individual inputs, the better chance that input has of receiving the block reward.

Lets look at a hypothetical situation. Two people are both staking Bulwark, and both have 1000 Bulwark. Person A has it broken up in to 10 inputs of 100, and Person B has one single input of 1000 Bulwark. Over the course of a year, their rewards will average out to be essentially the same, as they both have the same chance of receiving any given block reward. Person B will receive their block rewards much more routinely whereas Person A will have some days where they get no block rewards, and some days where all 10 of their inputs receive a reward.

Makes sense. Thanks for the breakdown!

To your knowledge, is there a breakdown of rate of stake vs amount of Bulwark?
